Chris Johnson won't shut up

Chris Johnson is confident of achieving big things in the 2013 season. Not only does he expect to rush for more yards than Adrian Peterson, he also believes he can make a run at Eric Dickerson's all-time single-season rushing record.

I have an idea, Chris. Let your GAME do your talking. Shut your stupid mouth up and do what you need to do ON THE FIELD. You don't hear AD talking like an idiot every season. Heck, he blames some of the losses on himself EVEN AFTER HE RAN FOR OVER 200 YARDS.

He meant rush for more than AD in the upcoming 2013-2014 season. Some history say's that might be possible, for every back that's run for 2000 yards I don't think any of them repeated it the following year, in fact most dropped down considerably. Though as we all know by know, never bet against AD!

IMO, CJ is a 1 trick pony, he's super fast and that's pretty much it. Without a legit deep threat and without an athletic running threat at QB (vince young) last year showed you can contain CJ pretty easily. Don't let him get outside and he falls over on the first bit of contact, game over. When he was CJ2k he was routinely getting 10 yards down the field before anyone even had a chance to tackle him. Even with all that, he still doesn't garner the amount of attention AD gets!

I don't see a problem with CJ2K saying that. If I'm a fan of Tennessee's, then I'm totally fine with it. It means nothing to the Vikings or AP.

Truth be told...It's easy to get mesmerize and fall in love with the possibility that AP can break the all-time record, or go for 2k in back to back years, but I would gladly take 1300-1600 yards and have stronger passing numbers then I would a repeat of this last year because that probably means the playoffs are less likely.

I don't have a problem with it either. What should he say? AD said he wants to rush for 2,500 yards next season.

Whether CJ or AD or anyone else will hit their goals is another story entirely, but it's not surprising they talk about it and they see each other as rivals, as both recently put up huge rushing seasons in a league that has largely come to favor the pass.

I'd love to see them battle it out all season and both rush for like 2200 plus yards each. That would be like the HR battle of '98 between Sosa and McGwire. As long as AD is in first place, of course.

I doubt CJ ever surpasses 1500 rushing yards again.

I was thinking about an article I read in Sports Illustrated from 2010 that demonstrated his arrogance.

Rare is the action than can enliven a day like this. Then quarterback Vince Young stuck a handoff in running back Chris Johnson's belly, and Johnson darted through a small hole into the second level of the defense. Cornerback Cortland Finnegan bounced forward to confront Johnson; they were wearing helmets and shoulder pads, but only shorts, so Finnegan could induce a play-ending whistle just by thudding Johnson with his pads and wrapping him up to a standstill. But as Finnegan squared to make contact, Johnson dipped his left shoulder inside and then burst abruptly to the right, like a minnow startled in shallow water. Not only did Finnegan whiff on the thud, but he also would have whiffed if it had been touch football. The spectators gasped.

Johnson accelerated to the outside, sprinting toward the pylon 60 yards away. Free safety Michael Griffin caught him on the angle inside the five, but Johnson straightened Griffin with a vicious stiff-arm and rolled across the goal line with Griffin dangling from his forearm.

Ten minutes later, as Johnson walked off the field, it was suggested to him that maybe Finnegan was coasting. Thud scrimmage and all. "Nope," said Johnson. "I just dismissed him." Griffin? "Nuh-uh," said Johnson. "All real." He flicked his prodigious dreads from his face and nodded for emphasis.

Perhaps he should focus on his on field production before setting gaudy targets!? The guy plays behind a struggling O-Line and with projected lower reps this season, I can only see his stats falling further.

Fickle and overly cocky, never been a fan of Chris Johnson. Admittedly his numbers that season were strong but not to AD's extent, run your mouth when you fully prove yourself on a consistent basis.
