Re: Draft Day Discussion

I can't believe Pratt went to the Puke in the 7th round. It pisses me off also. :soap Odds of Pratt ever seeing the field in a Packer jersey are very poor. It would only happen if Love gets hurt. Odds of Pratt turning into a competent QB if he does see the field are also very poor. 7th round QBs pa...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

Jones was never considered to have much of a ceiling which is why he was picked at 15 and if the Pats didn't jump who knows how far down he would have fallen. They rolled the dice. JJM is a much better prospect. Jones only had one season and JJM 2 in college. JJM can avoid pressure while Jones is a...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

I know this is post-draft and not draft day, but since it's slow and this thread is active I thought I'd post this here: https://walterfootball.com/nfldraftgradesteam.php Someone did NOT like the Vikings draft. Like, at all... 2024 NFL Draft Accomplishments: Minnesota did not manage its resources v...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

A QB I liked was M Pratt who the Packers selected in round 7. That appears to be a fall in the lap pick. He was projected round 4-5. Milton went to the Pats round 6 and already the experts are saying position change to TE. Milton said that's the 1st he heard of it. Another I liked is Mark Gronowski....

Re: Draft Day Discussion

This is a cool name for a football player QB Rocky Lombardi. It don't get more American, hero, underdog than that. Bengals signed him as a UDFA. I thought Penix had a lifetime college career which of course he did. Rocky was 7 year college vet.

Re: Draft Day Discussion

With their second pick of the afternoon, Minnesota used their first of two selections in the sixth round on former Oklahoma offensive tackle Walter Rouse. Walter Rouse enters the NFL draft with upside as a potential interior offensive lineman, underscored by his significant collegiate starts and po...

Re: The official JJ McCarthy Thread

I wanted Maye. Pretty sure KOC did too, but settled for JJ since the price was too high. Sure hope they bench JJ for at least a year, make sure he is ready for 2025. KAM didnt have to trade up for it either. Turner is a beat thats one injury away from a bust. He better bulk up a bit. Very slow draf...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

With their second pick in the sixth round, Minnesota selected former Alabama kicker Will Reichard. He is the first kicker to be drafted by the Vikings since Daniel Carlson in 2018.

Re: Draft Day Discussion

I'll get laughed off the board...but are there any decent looking place kickers to be had in this draft? Joseph is gone. I'd like to have a kicker that's consistent from 45 yards & in & doesn't miss multiple PATs during the course of the season. Peg has never missed a practice kick so he ne...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

Khyree Jackson, CB, Oregon -- B/R gave a good grade. Strengths: Tarantula-like frame, takes full advantage of length, plays physical at line of scrimmage, competes through the ball Weaknesses: Some stiffness in backpedal to quickly flip his hips and turn, lacks top gear, overly handsy down the field...

Re: The official JJ McCarthy Thread

You don't see JJM as a 1st rounder which is fine it's your judgment. I didn't say that, or if I did I misspoke. I thought McCarthy hadn't demonstrated enough on the field yet to justify a high pick, but could still be well worth the pick. In my view he carried the highest overall risk of the top gr...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

What do we go for in Round 4? CB? DT? OL? Is there a developmental QB prospect that might be worth a flyer? I still like Hall as a developmental guy. But, you can't have enough decent QB prospects in today's NFL. As much I hate giving the Packers props...they had a bunch of QBs on their rosters in ...

Re: The official JJ McCarthy Thread

Us and Denver are following the same path. Both have a Jet franchise QB failure as a gap starter and a 1st rounder waiting on deck. Should be interesting. The Jets can really burn through them. They even failed in the 83 class.

Re: Draft Day Discussion

There's always some players from day 3 that pan out. Here's 3 I like. C Tannor Bortolini, G Mason McCormick and QB Mark Gronowsky.
