Re: The official JJ McCarthy Thread

I wanted Maye. Pretty sure KOC did too, but settled for JJ since the price was too high. Sure hope they bench JJ for at least a year, make sure he is ready for 2025. KAM didnt have to trade up for it either. Turner is a beat thats one injury away from a bust. He better bulk up a bit. Very slow draf...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

With their second pick in the sixth round, Minnesota selected former Alabama kicker Will Reichard. He is the first kicker to be drafted by the Vikings since Daniel Carlson in 2018.

Re: Draft Day Discussion

With their second pick of the afternoon, Minnesota used their first of two selections in the sixth round on former Oklahoma offensive tackle Walter Rouse. Walter Rouse enters the NFL draft with upside as a potential interior offensive lineman, underscored by his significant collegiate starts and pow...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

I'll get laughed off the board...but are there any decent looking place kickers to be had in this draft? Joseph is gone. I'd like to have a kicker that's consistent from 45 yards & in & doesn't miss multiple PATs during the course of the season. Peg has never missed a practice kick so he ne...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

Khyree Jackson, CB, Oregon -- B/R gave a good grade. Strengths: Tarantula-like frame, takes full advantage of length, plays physical at line of scrimmage, competes through the ball Weaknesses: Some stiffness in backpedal to quickly flip his hips and turn, lacks top gear, overly handsy down the field...

Re: The official JJ McCarthy Thread

You don't see JJM as a 1st rounder which is fine it's your judgment. I didn't say that, or if I did I misspoke. I thought McCarthy hadn't demonstrated enough on the field yet to justify a high pick, but could still be well worth the pick. In my view he carried the highest overall risk of the top gr...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

What do we go for in Round 4? CB? DT? OL? Is there a developmental QB prospect that might be worth a flyer? I still like Hall as a developmental guy. But, you can't have enough decent QB prospects in today's NFL. As much I hate giving the Packers props...they had a bunch of QBs on their rosters in ...

Re: The official JJ McCarthy Thread

Us and Denver are following the same path. Both have a Jet franchise QB failure as a gap starter and a 1st rounder waiting on deck. Should be interesting. The Jets can really burn through them. They even failed in the 83 class.

Re: Draft Day Discussion

There's always some players from day 3 that pan out. Here's 3 I like. C Tannor Bortolini, G Mason McCormick and QB Mark Gronowsky.

Re: The official JJ McCarthy Thread

McCarthy almost seemed fated to go to the Vikings. Once he made it past the Giants at 6 I was almost certain he'd end up in Minnesota. Of course, nobody expected the Falcons to nab Penix so I was thinking the Vikings would have their selection of Penix, McCarthy or Nix at that point, but I still th...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

Any later round prospects that anybody likes. IMO a couple Gs would be nice. Even a blocking C would help. I hope they try and fix that before they throw the rookie into the swamp.

Re: Draft Day Discussion

I'm wondering if Cousins rehab has been going well, or if they have worries he might have set backs. Anyway it was refreshing to have a GM move up to get what could be as some have said the best defensive player in the draft and a potential all pro for years to come . Reports indicate that Cousins ...

Re: 2024 NFL Draft

 This made me laugh out loud. Hey I finally figured out a use for it. That is funny. Maybe it was some kind of premonition. Maybe she is more of an expert than the rest of us combined. She just told you in a soft manner. A poster would have been more straight forward like "you don't know ...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

If I’m a falcons fan, I’m psyched about the next decade. It’s EXACTLY what I wish Minnesota did. Extend Cousins for 2 years (yessss full guaranteed 50 milly/year blah blah blah and then incentive based after that) with Penix healing and learning to become the next great franchise top 3 QB in the le...

Re: Draft Day Discussion

Unbelievable Falcons take Penix. Figured with Cousins they were out of the qb market. They really did a good job of keeping that under wraps. Why? If you wait until you have nothing on the roster it's too late. He will need to sit a couple years so what. That's how you stop having nothing at QB. He...
