Re: Saints investigated for "Bounty Program"
it's similar to what you see in golf betting all the time. you have these tour players that are making millions and almost all of them are getting big sponsorship money to boot. yet you hear about their practice round wagers with eachother and they play for like $5 a hole! pretty funny actually and ...

Re: Saints investigated for "Bounty Program"
Time will only tell just what the total cost of the "Bounty Crew's" cheap shots and "dirty play" has exacted on the players that were for years victimized by them.
Pro football is a violent enough game as it is without throwing in the cowardly, intentional, cheap shots that are now coming to light ...

Re: Saints investigated for "Bounty Program"
In other news I found this interesting from Siefert.
Also NFL Network was schedule to show the 2009 NFCC on an episode of NFL's Greatest Games yesterday and pulled it and replaced it with a different game.
Sharper is a punk and most definately his tweet "Well y'all seen Brett had surgery on ...

Re: Saints investigated for "Bounty Program"
Well bp, I think you made my point by quoting the Wikipedia article:
Almost impossible to prove, and even if proven, how would one punish that unless it was directed and coordinated as in the case of the Saints and their bounties?
If the coach sits his better players and/or calls questionable ...

Re: Saints investigated for "Bounty Program"
How exactly would you or anyone else know if a team INTENTIONALLY throws a game? How would you prove something like that to the degree necessary to levy the sorts of punishment you're referring to?
You're familiar with the NFL rules enough to back that up with a link?
I don't think there is ...

Re: Saints investigated for "Bounty Program"
There is a big difference between rewarding players for injuring opponents, spying on other team's practices and intercepting their signals, and simply resting your starters at the end of a lost season so you can begin assessing your younger players in preparation for the offseason and the ...

Re: Saints investigated for "Bounty Program"
A Star Tribune "poster" expressed my exact sentiments about the NFC title game: "That "unpenalized hit" that is referred to . . let me jolt your memories. The league LATER apologized because they ADMITTED that the game officials blew it! THAT illegal play, when Favre was hit high AND low while still ...

Re: Nice story on Boise St. QB
No, but I'm going to tell you that being tall is more advantageous to the position than being short. And if I'm going to gamble the future of the team on it, I'm going to do so on someone 6'4~ over someone on the lower end of the spectrum. For every Brees or Rodgers (Vick, Stafford...wow there's ...

Re: Nice story on Boise St. QB
I also notice no 6 footers in the modern NFL. Why is that? Yet plenty of them decades ago? heck even 6'1 has gone the way of the dodo. Shortest you have now looks to be 6'2. With plenty of 6'5ish guys sprinkled in there. (winning super bowls usually).
