Re: Vikings Vs. Packers Postgame Thread

How much of this debacle falls on our ST coach Priefer? That's 2 blocked punts in 4 non-preseason games. Seems we are not providing enough ST practice time, or Priefer is missing some beats. I would imagine his opinion weighed heavily in the Carlson over Kai decision, no? Really not loving special ...

Re: Vikings Vs. Packers Postgame Thread

It has been a long, long time since I have felt compelled to post on this Board. But I've been lurking at times and certainly continuing to follow this horribly frustrating franchise. First of all, game balls to Kirk, Adam and Stefon (go Terps!) not to mention our second round draft pick who everyon...

Re: Vikings @ Lions Game Day Discussion Thread -- Thanksgivi

I've been watching the Vikes -- as I've been for five decades -- but staying away from the Message Board for no particular reason except because I've been busy. But I have to say -- even as Vikings teams go, this squad is especially painful to watch. They excel at finding a way to lose football game...

Re: Vintage

Not sure how you figure the Vikings are the only team to win an NFL Championship but not a World (Super Bowl) Championship. There are plenty of teams that did this, such as the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and Philadelphia Eagles to name a few. When we lost to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, we ha...

Re: Vintage

DanAS: I came on here to post my "same old Vikings: find a way to lose" rant but you, sir, captured my feelings exactly. I can't wait to see how we choke next year..... Let's hope we have the opportunity to choke. Many years, we just stink. When we don't stink, we choke. That's the beauty...

Re: Vintage

I would like to see Teddy with a better OL. I'm not completely sold on him, either, but I have to think some of his troubles are protection-related. He seems very smart and has good accuracy in the short game. Agreed. Though even the "weak armed" championship QBs, like Montana and Stabler...

Re: Vintage

Nah, the Bengals loss was far more painful for their fans IMO. A shanked kick happens, not just to the Vikings, the Bengals on the other hand lost stupid. We are a very well coached team that doesn't make many idiotic mistakes. In that sense, we can't be compared to bunch of teams, the Bengals bein...

Only our Vikings figure out new and creative ways to lose in the playoffs. But the fact is that our D played really well and has a great nucleus for next year. As for the O, it isn't good enough to have gone as far as some of the other great Vikings teams of the past have gone, so even if had won to...

Re: Raider Legend Ken Stabler Passes

It's an absolute travesty that Stabler isn't in the Hall. Half of his fricken' team from the mid 70s is in the Hall, and I'm sure they'd all tell you that Stabler was the team's MVP and heart and soul. Just ridiculous that he's been excluded. Take it from the former captain of my high school math te...

Re: Adrian Peterson Reinstated

Peterson made a reasonable point about NFL contracts but, understandably, nobody wants to hear it from him. He's put himself in a terrible position to serve as any kind of spokesman or advocate for players. He's a very unsympathetic figure. I'd only slightly rephrase what you're saying. Peterson is...

Dan, your thread has been merged with this one and I added your thread's title to the top of your post here, in bold, since it was obviously relevant to the rest of what you posted.

Re: "Crazy How One Side Has So Much Power"

Mondry,

An argument can certainly be made that the NFL shouldn't be the one league that doesn't guarantee salaries. But Peterson, given what has happened in the past year, shouldn't be the guy to create the test case -- and the above line is an example of why not.

Re:

I hate being that guy, but we already have a thread devoted to everything Adrian. If we had a new thread every time the situation escalated again, this board would be a mess. I just thought that line deserved its own thread. It's a powerful, powerful line -- kind of a show stopper, at least for me.

"Crazy How One Side Has So Much Power"

"Crazy How One Side Has So Much Power" According to ESPN.com, this was the line Adrian Peterson came up with in whining about the Vikings contract demands. I am very rarely speechless, but this guy has left me that way. Given what Peterson did, he's damned lucky that he's not living in Ce...
