Re: Bears at Vikings
The Bears are a team that has completely fell apart from top to bottom. There is nothing about this team that should create tremendous issues for us. Their OL is horrible and is on pace to set a record for sacks allowed. They also have a hard time running the ball. Like always we need to play clean...

Re: Texans at Vikings
It's interesting - the Texans are 2nd in the league with 9 total sacks, but 7 of those sacks came against Caleb Williams and the Bears last week, so it is hard to tell if the Texans are that good at getting to the passer, or were just able to take advantage of a weak offensive line and rookie QB. I...

Re: Who Starts?
The people that disagree mostly watched the game. Anyway, his stats are good too. 150 passing yards, 66 rushing yards and 3TDs. A 101 passer rating and a QBR of 86. 216 total yards 3 TDs and no INTs in 3 quarters. Those are good stats. Focusing on the fact it's over 30 passes just feels like nit-pi...

Re: Saints at Vikings
It’s just one of those Stephen A. Smith-type of positions that are baseless and (totally unconvincingly) justified by saying it over and over, usually louder. Sometimes when I can’t watch the game, I’ll monitor the little ESPN gamecast on my phone. Because all I can see are little arrows going one ...

Dang it. I was about strap up like Kevin Kline in Silverado and join your cause. Please feel free. It’s just one of those Stephen A. Re: Saints at Vikings
Kapp 30 pass attempts for 150 yards isn't good. It never will be. You can't just throw out his understandable rough start. That was part of how he played. He got some nice rushing yards though. I probably didn't factor that in enough. I’m done with this conversation. YOU ARE WRONG. He was the NFC O...

Re: Vikings acquire Dobbs
O’Connell was on the Rams staff when they had Goff, right? Wasn’t it a thing where the Rams would get to the line really quickly, before 15 seconds on the play clock (when the radios shut off), so McVay could see the defense and then dictate where Goff should go with the ball? Supposed softer schedu...

Re: Donatel needs the axe
I think we should try to blitz more, but I don't think the problem is the whether or not we have three or four down lineman. The pass rushers are winning their reps, but QBs can get the ball out so quickly it doesn't matter. The secondary is filled with bad players. Peterson and Smith are real savv...

Re: Donatel needs the axe
Ok? I mean injuries are part of the game? I'm not following. Like it would be great to have players never miss games but unfortunately that happens and it's the next man up. My point is we have no depth. If one of our starters is down behind the defensive line, we are playing raw rookies and practi...

Re: Donatel needs the axe
Okay, I'm not sure I am on any train, but through three seasons and 26 games played of a possible 46 for various reasons, some coaching, some injury, I'm not inclined to believe he's going to be the guy. But, regardless, I'm here to discuss--not argue. Let's say meet in the middle of your cited sta...

Re: Donatel needs the axe
You hit it right on the head. We have 3 NTs as our starting DL. That's a joke. Hunter is a top flight 4-3 DE. He can rush the passer and stop the run. Those type of players are hard to find. You build your D with that as a starting point. Tomlinson is a load inside and can hold the point. Both are ...

Re: Donatel needs the axe
Why couldn't the defensive side adjust? If you can't play defense with most of your starters healthy (I think only Smith was out), what business does this team have in the playoffs? That's kind of the crux of this entire thread, and the larger conversation, no? The defense has not shown any ability...

Re: Donatel needs the axe
Don’t you think we needed to be aggressive? All game? Score as many points as possible? I find this thread kind of spiraling into some meta-level irony, as it was created and titled as a call to fire the Defensive Coordinator. Now it’s taken a turn, and all threads do anyway, to malign the over-aggr...

Re: considering the jump pass in a "play design vacuum." (which I understand to mean, not considering the context in which it occurred, i.e. the score, the point in the game, etc.) 1) KOC has proven to be unconventional, creative, and smart within the opponent's 10 yard line. His stats on...
