The starters will play extended snaps for the first time. If the Vikings' starters can make a good showing against a decent Charger team, there may be some hope.

The point is -- even if you concede that it's beneficial to tank games late in a losing season in order to improve draft position (I don't) ... it's freaking AUGUST.
