Re: Stadium thread

I guess so ... but everyone already knows he's got enough money that he could fund the stadium by himself if he wanted. It's always been a business decision to only fund it to a certain point. I don't know why people would expect that to change because he actually spent some of the money we all alr...

Re: Stadium thread

I think it's finally a step in the right direction to making it a done deal. Sorry living in Wisconsin they cover very little about the Vikes unless it'snarky comments about their losses. I get most my info through DeadPoet. I do see Raptorman taking pins to the inflated heads of Packer fans on the...

Re: Stadium thread

Something new. For 28.5 million, maybe Zygi should buy it himself. Ramsey County officials say they've struck a $28.5 million deal with the military to buy the Arden Hills site of a proposed $1.1 billion Minnesota Vikings stadium. The purchase price reportedly includes cleanup costs and squelches sp...

Re: Stadium thread

http://www.startribune.com/local/minneapolis/133252703.html Great, more ammo for Zellers. If indeed it means that they need to play next season in the Dome, maybe it would be a good thing because they could iron out a lot of things. But I still would like them to figure out something sooner. But th...

Re: Stadium thread

Here's the thing. The state has said over and over again, "Not this year, wait" well, the next time some business wants something from the state and the state says "Not this year, wait" as a business owner how would you take that? Well, look what they did to the Vikings, strung t...

Re: Stadium thread

You're suggesting Wilf pays $1.1 billion for a stadium that gets utilized by the team 7 games out of the year while the state benefits the rest of the time? Granted the guy is rich but he's not that rich. And if that's the case, the state should've made this clear from the start (5-10 years ago) an...

i wouldnt the owner for leaving if minnesotans are afraid to give up pennies on the dollar in taxes. jobs will be lost, money will be lost, restaurants , bars, etc... will suffer if the vikings leave. No, according to some that money will be spent somewhere else. Re: Stadium thread

I think thats what fans are saying, one way or the other. Some think the state should just throw money at the Vikings because they are fans and the Vikings bring some benefits to the state. Others (like me) feel if the Wilfs want a billion dollar stadium, he and the NFL should build it. Some say th...

Re: Stadium thread

Just so I get this straight. The Vikings want a new stadium. If built, the stadium will be owned by the people of MN. The people of MN are being asked to contribute $600 million while the Vikings are going to put $400 million into a building they don't own and will have to sign a lease to play in. O...

Re: Stadium thread

http://www.twincities.com/ci_19113876 A whole lot of nothing Im sure. Especially since Ziggy just said publically he would wait another year for the stadium. I am pretty sure if he said it, he meant that if it took longer to construct it would not be an issue. I don't think he meant if it takes ano...

Re: Stadium thread

Here's what I don't get. The people are looking at this as 5 cents on 10 dollars. Ok, fine. Are the Vikings going to own the stadium? Nope. Are the Vikings going to be the only ones who use it? Nope. How many other days during the year will it be used? 200, 300, 350? Who knows. They look at it as an...
