Re: Stadium thread
So those of you who live in MN. This is what one of your Senators is saying about the Vikings stadium. While this is just part of his e-mail, you can read the rest at the link. “I remain a strong supporter of public investments that actually expand prosperity and improve economic productivity: educa...

Re: Stadium thread
Lester Bagley. "There is no next year." I wonder if the politicians know what that means.

Re: Stadium thread
First, the Jags have a new owner. Part of the deal was that he said he would not re-locate the team. The teams lease with the stadium goes until 2027. So unless something major happens, the Jags are going nowhere in the foreseeable future. If the Vikings move, MN will be with out a NFL team for a ve...

Re: Stadium thread
Oh, well. It was a good run while it lasted. I don't see how Zygi and company would even want to talk to the politicians in MN in the future. I can see him putting the team on the market. Wouldn't that shock the Politico's?
If they move, I will have to find a new team.

Re: Stadium thread
I'll believe it when they implode the dome and the Vikings play the first game in the new stadium. Unitl then it's just a bad dream.

Re: Stadium thread
Politics are very fine line in this thread. After writing one of my posts I went back and took out 3 sentences because I felt they may have crossed the line. It is a politically charged discussion that is hard to talk about sometimes. Write your post then re-read it before you post it. It's not wort...

Re: Stadium thread
They have a chance here to help build the stadium and get some more money for the state in the future for future projects. I am just waiting to hear the reasons they will oppose it.Demi wrote: Tell that to the republicans.

Which is why the politicians will find some way to shoot it down. Just watch.bigskyeric wrote:This sounds absolutely too good to be true.

Re: Stadium thread
Now we find out how serious the politicians really are. Officials with the White Earth Tribe will announce Thursday morning a plan to build a metro-area tribal casino with the state that would help pay for a new Minnesota Vikings stadium. According to the tribe's "Minnesota Wins" website, ...

Re: Stadium thread
So, let me get this straight. The Basilica is surrounded to the west by a 6 lane highway, and to the north by a 6 lane highway and the Stadium would be to the north of that highway. Just how in the world would that interfere with the Basilica? Sorry, I just don't get it.

Re: Stadium thread
City of Shakopee put forth racino money to pay. City does not have that authority. Racino money must be authorized by the state. Shakopee plan came too late, without a local share. Racino money could be part of the state share for any site, state has not said if they will tap it though indications ...

Re: Stadium thread
I think it's time Zygi fires up the jet and flies to CA to talk. It sounds to me like the politicians don't want to put any place but he metrodump site. Either that, or put the team up for sale. They have done nothing but string the team on from day one. Either that of Zygi signs a one year lease fo...

Re: Stadium thread
I knew somehow they would shoot down the Arden Hills site. It makes to much sense to build a stadium in the open area that needs to be developed.
