Re: Site Banner
Hope this helps. The current images are from the base theme, but I had done a little work to make it look better with the shots with Peterson in them. The images are still there, just not linked in the theme. If they're helpful to anyone trying to make some new ones, here's the direct links: http://...

SI Article about shutdown / me
I figure it's better if I post this myself than have someone else find it first. http://www.si.com/nfl/2014/09/18/minnesota-vikings-fan-who-gave-football Please know that I did not in any way do the shutdown or the message in order to generate publicity for myself. What's in the article about my rel...

Update
Cliff has completely taken over all aspect of running the board. I no longer hold any "keys". I made the decision to shut the board down in anger. It was rash and it wasn't fair to the users of the board or especially to Cliff. I completely pulled the rug out from under him after handing h...

I'm Retiring
Six years ago, Mike posted a similar message here. Now it's my turn. As many of you have noticed, I haven't been around as much in the last year as I had in the past. Unfortunately, I've found myself losing my love of the game. Rick Reilly put it better than I could. I don't mean to try to convert a...

Re: Goodell salary
Ha. I think they have his salary and "bonus" switched around. Well, they should be switched around, anyway. That is just plain odd. Jealous! When you're at that level (if you think of him as CEO of a $9B company), compensation is largely performance based, so the base salary is a smaller ...

Re: No more extra point?
If they had a practical alternative to the PAT then I would be in favor of a change, but just automatically giving a team 7 points is more boring than the PAT itself, and would eliminate a strategic component of the game. Down by 8 in the 3rd quarter do you chase the points and go for 2 or do you w...

I don't think I've ever seen a fake, but I have seen a botched snap converted for 2.dead_poet wrote:Can you presently fake-kick an extra point for two points? I don't think I've EVER seen this done.

Jim Kelly hurt his knee the previous week (against the same Oilers team). Frank Reich was Buffalo's QB for that game.Valhalla wrote:A game to remember for a long time like when Jim Kelly and Buffalo came back big-time against Warren Moon and Houston, I believe i have that correct.

Re: Peterson leaves Boise for Washington
I suspect NFL GM's have similar attitudes to poll voters about Boise State. ie, not in a major conference, inferior competition. There was enough questioning of Chip Kelly being hired out of the Pac10, I don't think many GM's would go out on a limb for a guy from lower level conference.

Re: Mike Tomlin's D-bag move
Also, I wonder what the ruling would be if a runner touches something or someone that is out of bounds. Is he down? Because my first reaction to seeing that play was that Jones should have stiff-armed Tomlin into the first row of seats. Still in bounds. Think about a defender on the sideline, the d...

Re: Mike Tomlin's D-bag move
Watch this video for a clearer idea of what Tomlin did. He steps to the sideline and plants his feet on the very edge of the field as Jacoby Jones heads that way. He wasn't in that position on the field until Jones was out past the 40 yard line. And who stands like that, with their heels together? ...

Re: I just got the biggest screwjob of a life time
+1. There is no travel in FF, no point having divisions IMO. I've had bad luck with the losing with 2nd highest score of the week before, but the first tiebreaker in all the leagues I've been in is total score. There's also the historical rivalries in NFL divisions due to a lot of the teams having ...

Re: I just got the biggest screwjob of a life time
That's designed by someone taking fantasy way too literally. That's how NFL tiebreakers work. ie, if there was a 4-way tie for a wild card between GB, Chicago, NYG and Philly, the rules first determine best within division between GB/CHI and NYG/PHI, then match up the winners. That's all fine and go...
