 Foxsports : Moss to ARI?
I know some of you guys don't trading moss is the best idea, and rightfully so, but even if you think that, do you think this would be a fair trade for the vikes if S.O.D stays out of trouble and Moore continues his fine play?
Moss and Bennett for Darnell Dockett, Bert Berry, Adrian Wilson, Anquan Boldin and a 1st.
do you think it's fair?

Is this an actual trade rumor or is it just a hypothetical scenario?
Either way, it sounds pretty fair. Anquan Boldin is a stud WR, and still very young. So he would fill the void left by Moss. Bertrand Berry is a Pro Bowler DE, which would be a huge addition to our D-Line. Darnell Dockett looks like he's going to be pretty good too, I think he got some votes for rookie of the year, so there's definitely good potential. I don't know much about Adrian Wilson, other than that he's a safety. Plus the Cardinals will have the 8th pick in the draft, so we could get a pretty darn good player there too. I wouldn't complain if this happened.

I would take this deal in an absolute instant of a heartbeat.
Not likely to happen of course ...

Well it's a proposed trade, but who knows, maybe if denny green can pull the trigger, he would consider it. If you go to foxsports.com and then click on rumors, you can read all about it. From what I heard...Bert Berry had something like 13 sacks this season.

I don't think we have any say in it. And I sure don't think Pioneer Press columnist Bob Sansevere makes decisions for the team either. That's who wrote the article, which sounds anything but serious or fact based. Sansevere doesn't like Moss. Never did. For now, I'm not putting any stock into the rumor.

The proposed deal, which I doubt will happen, would be great. The defensive line rotation would improve immensely. Berry at RE, Dockett and Williams at DT, and Udeze at LE (assuming Mixon is cut). Darrion Scott would be the utility lineman and Spencer Johnson would be the third defensive tackle. The only thing missing would be a run-stopping nose tackle; I don't think that Martin is really the answer. Adrian Wilson would be an upgrade over Russell, and then there would actually be some depth at the safety position. Boldin would be a quality replacement for Moss. We'd miss the deep ball some, but not much. With the first round pick, we can take a cornerback or some other stud player.
This would probably favor the Vikings. A more fair trade would exclude either Dockett or Wilson.

I'm with you, Craig. It doesn't even qualify as a rumor because Sansevere wasn't suggesting that this trade was actually in the works. I think he was just throwing it out there, making a suggestion.

Not only doesn't it qualify as a rumor, it doesn't even qualify as a joke. It's Bob Sansever dreaming. That's all it is.

Give Moss back to Denny. That would be SOOOOOO beautiful.
Man, I like that WAY too much.
Would Arizona really have to give us all those players? How about Moss for a third rounder and a dozen practice balls?

Sorry, I needed a good laugh today and that response just sent me out of the chair.

The Cards won't do this deal. It's absurd actually. Moss is a fine receiver, but com'on! I would give up our #1 this year and next along with calvin pace.

Why Arizona? I think they're pretty much set at WR. They have much bigger needs right now.

Dennis Green was just on a local sports talk radio show here in Phoenix and when asked directly if he was interested in Randy Moss, he responded:
"No, I'm not interested in Randy. We've got two great receivers in Boldin and Fitzgerald and we're happy with that."
He also specifically named Berry, Dockett and Wilson as "core defensive players" and said they will be playing for the Cardinals next season.
So if you believe what Denny has to say, Moss will not be a Cardinal next year.

Thanks for the heads up Madame. I didn't really believe the Randy to 'Zona rumor anyway.

Most of us in MN learned a long time ago that we couldn't believe anything Denny said. I'm not calling him a liar, it's just that anything he says is subject to change without notice.

That's quite possibly the most ridiculous trade rumor I've ever heard. Why would the Cardinals trade a pro-bowl DE, a rookie of the year WR, an above average rookie tackle, and a first round pick for Moss? But hey, I would love it if they did.

You're right. But to hear Denny say he wasn't interested in Moss made me laugh. Denny is the guy who traded for Spergon Wynn...
Has anyone noticed that, while many other one year players are included in the Vikings web site alumni roster, Spergon has been deleted?
