@ArifHasanNFL I guess the Vikings are very confident in Kendricks and want to play in nickel more often

@GoesslingESPN Spielman said Vikings like what they see from Eric Kendricks, who could be the MLB of future. Chance to use LB depth to help other area.
@Andrew_Krammer #Vikings GM Rick Spielman said Hodges move was about depth at linebacker, "how we feel about (Eric) Kendricks" and adding pick, young OL

Easton was the highest rated NFL center of preseason, per PFF. Goes 6'3/333 undrafted from Harvard.

@GoesslingESPN Spielman also said Vikings like what they've seen from Audie Cole, who could factor into the linebacker mix.

Depth. I guess. I think Hodges was more valuable but I know nothing about Easton.

Nick Easton, C, Ravens (6.7)
One of the things you learn watching preseason is just how bad backup offensive line play is league-wide. When you get down to the second and third teams, the O-line is regularly getting destroyed by the D-line, so when somebody stands out from that crowd it can be significant. Easton has been the highest-graded rookie center so far in preseason, by some distance. He may not have been facing first-team defenders, but he has graded positively against the run every game, and has allowed just one hurry over 123 snaps.

1. Nick Easton, C, Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens center was a dominant run-blocker with a +4.3 grade, and was solid overall with a +3.9 overall mark in his 73 snaps.

–Undrafted rookie free agent C Nick Easton continued to impress with a +2.4 overall grade. Easton has now graded positively in all four preseason games after allowing just 1 QB hurry, and earning a +7.7 run blocking grade.

@Andrew_Krammer Spielman, asked if Sullivan will be out longer than expected: "No...on personnel side, we're always looking to upgrade." #Vikings
@ArifHasanNFL We'll probably see more Audie Cole in the interim. Hopefully that Owen Daniels TD didn't leave a bad taste in your mouth
@PFF_Sam I mean we kinda knew this already, but Vikings really didn't value Hodges much, or Cole. Both I think are pretty good players.

So no more Hodges or Mauti? I thought for sure one of those guys was gonna contribute and be a factor. Really thought Hodges looked good to great this season. Maybe this means we can move Berger to another spot on the line if Easton gets in the rotation?

He looked good in the preseason. What did he do this season so far? I must admit he's been invisible for me.

1.64 at ten yard burst

29 reps at 225

5.12 40...

The guys seems pretty talented ...his only weakness seems length...

Projected as pure center in NFL/ played Guard at Harvard...

I will wait and see on this guy plus a sixth round pick.. Hodges was a 4th or 5th '
round pick.

@AllbrightNFL Have heard the #Vikings have solicited more than one team about interest in Patterson.
