Assistant Coaches:
This thread is to discuss the Assistant Coaches as they are named and our thoughts.
Offensive Cord.-Norv Turner (Not Official) This will bring our Offense into the 21st century
Def Cord.-George Edwards-Zimmer Clone
QB Coach-Scott Turner (Not Official)-Already knows more than previous QB coach just from his Dad
OL Coach-Jeff Davidson (Not Official)-Smart Move. Davidson is an up and coming coach
ST Coach-Bobby April (Not Official) Time to walk away from the whole Kluwe deal whether Phifer is in the wrong or not. April gets the most from his ST guys

Re: Assistant Coaches:
I was hoping we'd keep Priefer because he is a good coach but now atleast we don't have to worry about the Kluwe situation anymore.
I never heard of Bobby April before but I assume he is good. I like this clean sweep we are doing. This is exactly what the purple doctor ordered!! A fresh new staff!

Re: Assistant Coaches:
Yeah, good coach or not...Time to wash their hands of all that mess.
Re: Assistant Coaches:
How about a score card? I'll try to keep this updated. Vikings.com claims that the Vikings have 23 coaches. I imagine that number could go up or down, depending on new positions created and old ones that aren't filled. Not even sure all of them are really coaches; "Assistant to Head Coach" sounds more like a secretary than a coach.

Looks like there's an opening for Head Spellchecker too.

Re: Assistant Coaches:
I heard the same on Mularkey.
I also heard that Zimmer thinks some of the D-Swagger has to be put back in the Defense and he would like to go outside the box and hire either EJ Henderson or Ed McDaniel as an Asst. LBer coach!

Re: Assistant Coaches:
I have no love for hiring former Vikings just for the sake of hiring former Vikings. Like the Jack Del Rio talk. Who gives a damn whether they played here? Just hire some good coaches.

Re: Assistant Coaches:
I was very high on Jeff Davidson when we hired him back in the 2012 offseason. However, after this year, I am not so sure anymore. All the great work he did in 2012 was virtually non-existent this past season. I don't understand how a guy like Matt Kalil can go from a Pro Bowl player to looking like an absolutely pedestrian at times this past season. If Davidson stays that is fine, but he has to do a better job this year.
A Randy Moss fan for life. A Kevin Williams fan for life.

Re: Assistant Coaches:
Worry about it? It's still on going and he might take it to court. This would be a perfect time to let Mike Priefer go and have the excuse of "New HC wanted his staff".King James wrote:I was hoping we'd keep Priefer because he is a good coach but now atleast we don't have to worry about the Kluwe situation anymore.

I think he meant because we will likely be letting him go, we won't have to worry about it anymore...NextQuestion wrote: Worry about it? It's still on going and he might take it to court. This would be a perfect time to let Mike Priefer go and have the excuse of "New HC wanted his staff".

Re: Assistant Coaches:
Ah, my bad. George Stewart would be boss to keep around but I can see them going elsewhere.

I vote to keep Stewart and Saxon. Our WRs and RBs are fine. They both coach great.

Re: Assistant Coaches:
Looks and sounds like Adam Zimmer for DB Coach. Basically a done deal according to Adam and the Bengals Pride page.
