Excellent write up as always DP.

Good dose of humor:
Veteran and 96-year-old osteoporosis-laden Cook is sidelined with yet another injury (groin), and doctors have to be concerned he might actually have Leprosy in addition to Faberge bones and cotton candy ligaments. He hasn’t practiced all week and is out for Sunday’s contest.

And a good dose of analysis and material to ponder:
2012 was the Vikings’ highest pass defense ranking in the last decade (ninth). They finished 26th or worse six out of the last 10 years and appear headed that direction again as they continue to trot out one of the league’s least efficient secondaries, despite some recent high-round draft selections (Harrison Smith, first round; Chris Cook, second round; Xavier Rhodes, first round; Josh Robinson, third round). Presently, they rank 28th in the NFL in pass defense, allowing 315 passing yards/game and a league-leading nine receiving scores

And here lays bare the utter idiocy of losing now to win draft picks later. The only thing it guarantees is losing now.

Vikings just finished their last appearance in London before the game. Jared Allen with best line: 'There's only one Big Ben in London'
