Vikings have #14 pick
If Vikings lost, Vikings would have the #13th pick so it is not a big deal so what position should Vikings draft at #14 or who would you like to see Vikings draft at #14?
Re: Vikings have #14 pick
A guard about 6’3 320lbs stronger than an ox, run a 4.6 40, so mean and tuff he wipes is arse with sandpaper.

Rick will trade down. Don't get too comfortable at 14.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 7:54 pm If Vikings lost, Vikings would have the #13th pick so it is not a big deal so what position should Vikings draft at #14 or who would you like to see Vikings draft at #14?

True, I forgot about trading down since Vikings wasted their 2nd round pick on Yannick so I can see Rick trying to trade down to get a 2nd round pick backRaptorman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 8:21 pmRick will trade down. Re: Vikings have #14 pick
Micah Parsons is my guy. He has the size and speed and Zimmer would bowl over old ladies and children to get the draft card in. I think he’ll be gone, we had a chance if we lost today but unlikely at 14.
I think Rousseau will be gone but if not, I’d take the gamble.

Won't be bad to get a couple 7th rounders also. That will put us at 30 in round 1.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 8:28 pmTrue, I forgot about trading down since Vikings wasted their 2nd round pick on Yannick so I can see Rick trying to trade down to get a 2nd round pick back
Re: Vikings have #14 pick
I envision us trading down a couple times with the first pick. Some players will slip. I actually would hope we trade down a couple times in the 1st and add 2 more 1st rd picks the next year as well. Gives a lot of ammunition to rebuild that defense. Also, I would look to take the Alabama OL. As much as I hate to see us always trade down, this draft in the 1st makes a lot of sense IMO
Re: Vikings have #14 pick
I’m all for trading down for additional assets.

Can't have too many 5th and 6th round picks you know.Raptorman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 8:21 pmRick will trade down. Re: Vikings have #14 pick
One thing we all need to remember is that the 2021 draft is going to be one of the most challenging in history.
There will be a decided lack of tape on college players. Many played only a handful of games. Others opted out altogether. Scouts couldn't travel to see players live. There's no guarantee there will even be a combine, even though that's become sort of a joke.
Trust me, this is not a built-in excuse for Rick Spielman and Mike Zimmer. I've stated on here more than once that I'm ready to move on from these guys. However, I think the reality is that it's not going to happen. The Wilfs value continuity above all else, even over winning, it seems. So for better or worse, we're stuck with these two.
I'm just suggesting we all go into this year's draft with open eyes and tempered enthusiasm. We absolutely struck gold with Justin Jefferson last year, and it would be easy for us to get spoiled. On the surface, it seems a team like Jacksonville, with two firsts, two seconds and a third, are sitting pretty. But I would suggest that draft busts are going to be a higher probability this year than almost any other year. Teams are going to have to be really creative and really thorough when it comes to due diligence on these guys.
Here's hoping the Vikings can hit on whomever they select.

Go ahead. I dare you.

Re: Vikings have #14 pick
I've read that the Vikings dropped 2 spots because of the win.
#12 vs #14 is pretty big IMO.
If the universe aligned, the VIkings could have had a top 10 pick with a loss. Makes me wonder about the 2 penalties that gifted the Vikings win yesterday.
IMO, the Vikings are going nowhere with Cousins. They need to trade up and get Wilson. I think he can be the next Mahomes.

What would the 2nd-round-pickless Vikings have to dangle to move up to #8?
The QB prospect in this upcoming draft that the Vikings might have a shot at is Kyle Trask. I think he will probably be the last QB taken of the group of top QBs in this draft, which means he's most likely to last until around pick #10, which I think is a more realistic play for Spielman.
I like Trask a lot as a prospect. He's big, solid, has a strong, accurate arm, and has done it against top-level competition. The knock on him is mainly that he's not a runner. He does have pocket presence and has shown the ability to evade the rush, and in that sense he's more like a Tom Brady. He's a bigger, stronger Tom Brady.
IF Spielman were to move up, I hope it's for Trask.
