The Vikings and tackle Riley Reiff are stuck in a late-camp salary impasse, and for now Reiff is creating the impression that he won’t blink.
Per a league source, Reiff has told teammates he expects to be cut. This means that he doesn’t expect to reduce his $10.9 million salary for 2020.
Cutting Reiff would create $8.7 million in cap space, with $2.2 million in dead money this year and another $2.2 million next year.

I like the Ngakoue trade better now. Reiff was fine, but he has no future on the team. Much. better to have that extra cap space and play Hill or whoever at LT.

Brian O'Neill. Oli Udoh will take over RT.

I think it's past time to move on from Reiff especially at that number. I only wish they had done it sooner so O' Neil could have had all camp to take reps on the left side. It's time to see what these young project lineman can do or cut bait. I also would have liked to see Cleveland taking all his reps at tackle instead of guard if that is what they envision him as in the future. Coaching them up and having them learn and perfect technique at the position you drafted them for long-term is better than switching them around all the time.

Making moves to Strengthen the defense line. While we will have lost two starters off the offensive line.
Hope Cousins has good life insurance.

I hope Vikings will stop signing former Lions in free agency, they usually suck like Reiff

Bad. Our line was already not looking so good. Without Reiff prefer for every snap to be a jailbreak.

That's actually coming from the Vikings themselves. Apparently Udoh is having a great camp, and he was improving a lot last year, anyway.
Of course, that's camp. We'll see when the games begin and he's lined up across one of the Smiths against Green Bay.
Go ahead. I dare you.
Underestimate this man.

This makes me wonder if the Vikings are freeing up cap space to sign Dalvin Cook.

Could be. I think Ngakoue ends up being a rental.J. Kapp 11 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 10:18 am This makes me wonder if the Vikings are freeing up cap space to sign Dalvin Cook.

I read it yesterday while I was grilling on the deck, and now I can't find it. I'll keep looking.
Never mind. Just found it. All it said was that with Reiff out, Udoh was taking the reps at right tackle, with O'Neill at LT. But Rashod Hill was also out yesterday, so Udoh could have just moved up.
That's what I get for trying to rely on my memory.
Go ahead. I dare you.

Well, it is expected, the offensive line is not going to be elite overnightVikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 10:06 amBad. Our line was already not looking so good. Without Reiff prefer for every snap to be a jailbreak.
