Game Day Food

Post by Cliff »

There are these fried tacos that I generally make on special occasions. I was going to have them today "just in case" we didn't make the super bowl. However, I decided I couldn't think like that. So I got some chicken wings that I'm going to grill. It'll be about 53 degrees here (which is super nice considering the last couple of weeks) so I'm going to do some home tail-gating. Hanging out with some friends, grilling some wings, drinking some drink, watching the game.

What about the rest of you? Having any good food for the game?

Hell yeah! Just returned from Spain and we brought back some goodies that were awaiting a special occasion such as this.

I'm grilling a rack of lamb, marinated in olive oil, rosemary and garlic, accompanied by couscous and a caprese salad with fresh mozzarella and olive oil from my friend's cooperative in Spain. A bottle of tempranillo from the Ribera del Duero will get me in that just right state to enjoy the game! :pour:

I was at the game last week, so I think I get a free pass, right? I mean, if they were playing at the Bank I'd gladly repeat last week's rituals--pear and ham sandwich at Hell's Kitchen with a Surly Furious. MMM.

Haha that’s exactly how I am. I’m trying not to do anything different than last week

Dude, I want nothing to do with my state of affairs last week.

I watched the first quarter on a Southwest Airlines flight, then went straight to a meeting for two hours before watching the rest of the game on DVR. Somehow, nobody told me the outcome throughout the meeting. Of course, I got a text that pushed to the front of my phone that said, "That was incred..." before I could cover it up. All game long, I was wondering what was so incredible.

Not gonna repeat that scenario just for superstition. Blame me if we lose.

For the record, we're having chili. Win or lose, there will be gas.
