Wow unreal. Between that article and the other one I read from Bleacher Report, I love this guy more and more. And to be honest, by the looks of that article, it doesnt seem like he wants to leave here. Even if Shurmur does go.

How can you not like him and be excited that he will get it done?
Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.

Re-sign him right now so he doesn't hit the open market. Deal with Teddy in the offseason.

If he wins the Super Bowl, I will marry him. My girlfriend may get upset, but she'll get over it.

Franchise him for next year. They can give him a fair market value and make sure he's the right guy long term without allowing another team to match their offer then, based on my understanding. Problem solved for those worried Shurmur will take him if he gets a promotion to HC.

It just depends on the situation. Assuming the Vikings were to win the super bowl - what's the fair market value for a super bowl winning quarterback in his prime? I'm not sure we want to get into a bidding war. I hope they can wrap it up before it comes to that - you know, if we do in fact win the Super Bowl and Keenum does well.KingLodbrok wrote:Franchise him for next year. Enjoyed that, thanks for posting it.
So glad to read that he's loving Minny. My physical therapist knows his family and says they're just great people. I love that he appreciates the situation he's in and being on the right team at the right time.

If it were me I would offer him a 5yr/$100mil with performance incentives that could earn him $115mil (total) over 5 years.

I love that he loves everything MN. Kinda reminds me of Favre with GB.

Sad part is he will likely be gone.

Good part is, they'll choose the best candidate(s) for the job going forward from among 3 quality players.mosscarter wrote:Sad part is he will likely be gone.

I'm not so sure of that. Some of our quarterbacks will likely be gone, but right now, he's the one (and Sloter) with undamaged (previously or otherwise) knees. We'll see...mosscarter wrote:Sad part is he will likely be gone.

What situation? If they franchise him they pay him a set price based on market value. Not sure on the exact number or formula, but there is no guesswork if they put the franchise tag on him. Obviously whatever that number they'd assume other teams would offer equal or better and they wouldn't want to take the chance he jumps ship.Cliff wrote: It just depends on the situation.
