Holy crap ... 13 wins.
I thought we'd be better this year, but no way did I ever anticipate this.
Rest up, Vikes. Heal up. And let's blast whoever comes into our house in two weeks!

Well we have a bye, will give them time to come up with some better offensive plays that aernt quite so conservative. And no, I dont want Sam in.

Re: Week 17 Vikes-Bears game thread
I think Philly is incredibly vulnerable with Foles at QB. They may go down at home, and that could make for a nice run of home games for us if this team rises to the occasion and plays Championship-caliber football.

Re: Week 17 Vikes-Bears game thread
I thought we were doomed when Bradford kept missing games and Dalvin Cook went down. I was bracing myself for 8-8 and missing the playoffs.
But this team has some serious talent on defense and the offense is really effective when they're clicking. The coaching is very solid and they are able to adjust when things aren't going right (this is rather novel for a Vikings team). Gotta get the pass protection sorted out (get some guys healthy) and pray that our idiot kicker and new long-snapper don't kill us in a critical situtation.

Re: Week 17 Vikes-Bears game thread
Well, that was a mighty fine Vikings regular season! Now it gets really serious. The defense looks championship-worthy and considering the way the Eagles are playing without Wentz, the road to the Super Bowl may go through Minnesota. It looks like there's a pretty tough field in the NFC so it should be a good postseason but the Vikings have put themselves in a great position. One thing I hope Zimmer addresses over the next two weeks: the Vikings corners were playing pretty grabby football today. They were getting away with it but they can't make a habit of that stuff because all it will take is a picky officiating crew in the playoffs to turn those jersey grabs and that downfield contact into costly penalties. I hope they clean it up. That's a minor complaint and there's really not much else to complain about. They're playing winning football and hopefully, they can keep it up for 3 more games! Kudos to Spielman, Zimmer, the entire coaching staff and especially the players themselves: 13-3 is impressive.

Re: Week 17 Vikes-Bears game thread
Great to lock up the bye. I think the eagles lose to whoever they face. I'm not sure who I would most and least like the Vikings to play. If they win in turnovers, penalties, and field position they will be tough to beat.

2 seed baby!! We’ll be the 1 by default IMO because I don’t see Philly getting out of their first game. Bring it! I’ll take anyone on in our house. This defense is lethal. Offense should be healthy by then. Elflein is an anchor

I think they mean "at least 13 wins." This is the only time we've ever won exactly 13. Of course, we won 15 in 1998. None of the great old Vikings teams of Bud Grant won more than 12. Of course, those were 14-game seasons.

I agree 100%. Seems like a lot of the better teams lean on this (GB, Pit, etc) when they have a slow start. I get that it's within the rules and that you should play "clean" but just comes across kind of cheap to me. Only other thing is Sendejo has improved but would rather hit than wrap up.......that makes me nervous.

Re: Week 17 Vikes-Bears game thread
Charles Davis hit on the grabbyness, specifically as it pertains to Rhodes. Found that interesting about strapping on boxing gloves. But, yes...it needs to be addressed. As well as Keenum stepping back up into the pocket instead of rolling out each time he gets pressured like he fixed after the Steelers game, was it?

For example, both the Rams and Saints have RBs that could really make a defense pay for the kind of missed tackles that come from "tackling" with your shoulder instead of your arms.
