#Vikings long snapper has a dislocated shoulder and likely will miss Chicago game but team is hopeful will be back for the playoffs. Long snappers will work out Tuesday and one will be veteran Justin Drescher. See story at twincities.com/2017/12/24/vik…

Jared Allen was fine as our backup long snapper when Loeffler got hurt a few years back. They should bring Allen in so he can be part of the team this year. He can hang around and get interviewed or something.

Apparently Morgan was the third string snapper. Eric Wilson, who was also hurt, was the backup LS.

I think Blake Bell was the backup LS, but we lost him after the Carolina game.
At least that's the official word from the team: http://www.vikings.com/news/article-1/V ... f8611e7fff

We have signed LS Jeff Overbaugh (@JeffOverbaugh) and placed G Nick Easton on IR.

Overbaugh joins the Vikings after spending the 2016 training camp with the Los Angeles Rams, followed by short stints with the Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears earlier this year. Overbaugh entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2016. The former Anchorage, Alaska native appeared in all 53 games at San Diego State and produced a perfect 409-409 snap attempts during his career. In 2016, he was named the top specialist at the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

I think Bell was the holder for a time at Oklahoma too. If he can kick he could be his own long snapper and holder.

Sam Bradford expected back at practice next week after 8 weeks on injured reserve; Mike Zimmer says his availability for the playoffs will be determined after he practices.

Elflein out again today with the shoulder. If out Sunday we'd be looking at: Reiff-Sirles-Berger-Isadora-Remmers

Getting thin...

Joe Berger and practice squad center Cornelius Edison were working on exchanges with Vikings quarterbacks in practice with Pat Elflein sidelined for a second straight day. Injured running back Dalvin Cook was putting in some work on the side today.

Already? Seems fast. Good indicator easily ready for off-season/camp.

Our line has performed so well this season it has been difficult to appreciate how fragile our depth is. We need to win and get guys some rest time for the playoffs.

I'd rather they rest Elflein to be honest. We should be able to beat the Bears without him. And if not, the odds the Saints, Falcons, and Rams all lose is pretty low. Anything can happen (especially to us) but I'd prefer to play it a little safe with guys on the bubble with injuries.

Wolfson is saying Elflein's injury isn't new. More rest. Might hold him out this week.
