Here are the answers to the question for October 3-8. Thank you for reading!
Fred Cox
Lonnie Warwick
Bob Lee
Eddie Murray
Ryan Longwell
Antoine Winfield
Percy Harvin
Isaac Holt
How many of the following players can you name?

October 9, 1965
Vikings 40 Giants 14
Fran Tarkenton has a scoring pass to a wide-out who had been a 4th round pick out of Northwestern (1963-1967). He had 202 catches for Minnesota for 3,222 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was a 1966 Pro Bowler. He wore #85 and he teamed for years with Ray Christensen on Gopher football broadcatst.

October 10, 1971
Vikings 13 at Eagles 0
Minnesota registers a 2nd straight shutout, forcing 4 turnovers and holding the Eagles to 9 first downs. The Vikings get a 2-yard touchdown plunge from a sturdy, dependable back from North Dakota (1965-1975) who had been a 13th round pick. He was a 1970 Pro Bowler. His 4,320 rushing yards and 29 touchdowns are both 6th best in team history. He wore #41 and he scored the only Viking touchdown in their 1st Super Bowl after the 1969 season.

October 11, 1981
Vikings 33 at Chargers 31
An obscure wide-out from Florida has a career day in a pulsating Minnesota win. With the Vikings down 31-24 with 2:30 left, Minnesota recovers a fumble at the Viking 30-yard line. Tommy Kramer, who passes for 444 yards on this day, hits our subject with a 43-yard touchdown pass. Rick Danmeier misses the extra point but our subject recovers the onside kick. On the ensuing drive, Kramer hits our subject with a crucial 18-yard pass to give Danmeier a shot at redemption on the game's final play and he knocks it through. Our subject, who had just 79 catches in his Viking career (1979-1984), has 6 catches for 120 yards on his special day. He wore #80.

October 12, 1997
Vikings 21 Panthers 14
Brad Johnson scores a touchdown by catching and running in one of his own batted passes from 3 yards out. Robert Smith scores the winning touchdown with 3:47 left, set up by a 38-yard pass from Culpepper to another obscure wideout who had been a 7th round pick out of Langston (1997-2000). He had just 43 catches in his Viking career. He wore #89.

October 13, 2002
Vikings 31 Lions 24
Minnesota gets the winning touchdown with 2:12 to play on a 2-yard plunge from a back from Kentucky (1996-2000) who had been a 3rd round pick. He had 1,535 career rushing yards with 21 scores for the Vikings. He is perhaps best known for being the receiver of that crazy, no-look, over the head lateral from Randy Moss on the last play of the first half of a game against Denver in 2003. He wore #30.
The Lions proceed to storm down the field but fail to tie it when a Viking defensive back intercepts Joey Harrington in the end zone. He had been a 2nd round pick out of Vanderbilt by the Cardinals before coming to Minnesota (2002-2005). He had 14 interceptions for the Vikings and was a Pro Bowler in 2003. He is now a draft analyst for CBS. He wore #25.

October 14, 2007.
Vikings 34 at Bears 31
Ryan Longwell wins it with a 55-yard field goal on the last play of the game. Adrian Peterson has scoring runs of 67, 73 and 35 yards. His 224 rushing yards on this day are the most ever surrendered by the Bears. The Vikings maddeningly give up a 31-24 lead with 1:38 to play on an 81-yard scoring play from a quarterback out of Michigan who stands at #4 on the all time Denver list in passing yardage and touchdown passes. The receiver is a player who was a sensational kick-off and punt returner but not known as a great receiver.

October 15, 1967
Vikings 10 at Packers 7 (in Milwaukee)
Bud Grant gets his first NFL win as the Vikings shock the defensing Super Bowl champions. Fred Cox wins it with a short field goal with 8 seconds left. Minnesota has just 183 yards of offense and the Viking quarterback hits just 2 of 11 passes with 3 interceptions. He was the last quarterback to lead Cal to the Rose Bowl. He was known more for his toughness and leadership qualities than his passing skills.

October 16, 1977
Vikings 22 Bears 16 (overtime)
Minnesota wins it on a fake field goal, scoring on a pass from a defensive back from Iowa who is the all-time franchise intercption leader with 53 picks. The receiver was a tight end from Wisconsin who went on to do color work on Viking broadcasts for a number of years.

October 17, 2004
Vikings 38 at Saints 31
Minnesota rolls up 605 yards from scrimmage with 29 first downs. A wide-out from Nevada has 6 catches for 134 yards. He came from the Seattle area and also played well for the Seahawks. His older brother had been a much-maligned point guard for the Gophers.
