Week 1 vs the Vikings...

Bingo. Revenge is best served cold but AP wanted to dish it out hot.

Plus, I don't think he's really bright enough to be able to see which teams he fits and which ones he doesn't. He thinks he can carry any team, anywhere, anytime...

Would people be opposed to offer the Saints a 7th rounder for AP?

I for one would not do it, but I have seen a lot of posts about bringing him back after the Cook injury and Murray looking less than spectacular.

I would, but with the idea that he is the backup to Murray. Mckinnon getting hurt is not a good thing either, we basically have Murray and CJ Ham.

That would be interesting with our improved OL.

Depending on his outlook, I think him and Murray could be bruisers together. Defenses would get so worn down.

I don't think the brass will bring him back though.

Oh puhleeeeeeze stop with the bringing AP back talk. He wasn't effective when he was here, and another injury or two and we'll be right back to a horrible OL or an AP on the sidelines. And you know that would happen, because we're the Vikings. Lets keep looking forward, not backward to a day that's never coming back.

AD is the one who blames everything bad that happened to him on MN, he certainly couldnt be blamed, hes a god (at least in his own mind). Everything going on in NO is their fault too not his.
You don't remember the post-game news conference where Moss sat there next to baseball caps with Reed and Carter written on them?

How about the time he left the game against the Redskins early?

Or the time he said he "played when he wanted to play"?

Look, I'm not saying Moss and AD are the same in terms of the things they've said and done relative to the team, but Moss did his fair share of things while in Minnesota to alienate plenty of fans and teammates alike. Heck, he did more when they briefly brought him back late in his career. What I am saying is that time has a way of papering over negative emotions, especially for great players. Even the Packers honored Brett Favre and that was messy on a level far exceeding either Moss or AD in Minnesota.

I think in another 5 years or so after AD retires you're going to see his name and number lofted into the Vikings Ring of Honor next to Moss's.

Yes he was...past tense...but not in his last year here and he was becoming less and less effective.

He was exceptionally effective. One of the all-time greats.

However, that doesn't change the fact that he

a) Blamed the Vikings for the way they treated him after he beat his child, even though they paid his entire 2014 salary until the NFL suspended him, more than $10 million. He and his agent then turned that supposed mistreatement into a very lucrative contract extension.

b) Played 20 games in 3 seasons and earned nearly $40 million.

c) Was definitely losing his effectiveness last year.

Again, nothing but love for what AP brought us. He will be in the Ring of Honor and the HOF, without a doubt. But the last three seasons were not good, despite leading the league in rushing in '15. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth, even for a big AP fan like me.

I don't have the patience to dig it up now but about a year ago Mothman and I got into it over AP and I did all the math on his stats.

Here are the rough numbers from what I can remember

He only started in 70% of the games he was vikings for.

He spent nearly 25% of his time with the vikings out for over 50% of the year or more

He hasn't posted a meaningful 100 yard game in over 16 games now (I say meaningful because technically he posted a 102 yard game against the Giants about 14 games ago but the game was "over" when he broke it)

The season he was the rushing leader after his suspension he had nearly 90 or more carries than the second place guy and beat him by less than 100 yards or something to that effect.

Peterson is cooked. All personal opinions aside, he hasn't been good for a very very long time.

I understand 25% of that sentence 75% or less of the year.

Mike Florio on Paul Allens radio show today said the Vikings would be very stupid not to inquire about getting Peterson.
