Preseason -- Dear god we suck! Our crap offense can't score a single TD and our D is getting beat by children!

Saints -- We are an unstoppable juggernaut of offensive dominance led by the golden laser arm of Bradford!

Steelers -- Keenum is a slow reacting statue! Start Sloter!

Bucs -- Keenum is genuinely the best QB we have on the team! Who needs Bradford!

I say this in jest of course but my overall takeaway is this is a good team that can compete on any given Sunday but doesn't have the luxury to play undisciplined football. Good teams are going to have off weeks where they look downright bad (Dallas last week, Oakland this week, etc.) but the big key is winning those close games. Like those two we gave up to Detroit last year. Little errors make a big difference between an 8 and 10 win season. We're likely in for more ups and downs, particularly in the weeks to come before Bradford/Bridgewater return.
lol. Found this on another forum.

My biggest point is at this point, it scares the crap out of me to give shattered knee 20 million a year when he's never had even a playoff appearance. Sometimes it just comes down to getting it done, enough with the excuses. He's had his chances. If he was a 2nd or 3rd rounder, he'd probably be riding the bench by now. Maybe a miracle can happen and he can prove me wrong, I just don't see him as a SB winner? Do you?
I don't know. But I know Bradford gives us a better chance than Case Keenum.

He's the highest rated in run stop. Which I can definitely see because he's been excellent so far this year.

I think we may be in a situation where we don't have next year's starting QB on the team. Which is crazy to think about as before the concern was whether we would keep Bridgewater or Bradford. With the amount of time Sam is going to miss, I can't see anyone giving him a mega contract. There's simply too much risk. Whoever signs him next year is going to need a strong contingency plan. Same with Teddy.

It's a shame because I think both are good QB's but it's tough to commit your most valued position to someone who can be taken out by a non-contact injury.

I agree, and it is a scary thought. If I had to guess, I could say maybe Bradford would accept a lesser deal, but who knows.

exactly my concern....which was one reason to see what Sloter has before this season is over....however, maybe Keenum has his Jim Plunket-like rebirth.

Dude, with all due respect, what is your fixation with Kyle Sloter? Did you go to high school with him or something?

You don't "see what a quarterback has" in the middle of the season. This isn't baseball, where you can put a guy at shortstop for a few games to see if he implodes. This is the quarterback position, the most important position on the field, the position you simply can't cover up. Turning it over to a guy who played exactly one year of college ball at a Big Sky school just to see what he's got? That tells the rest of the team, "You all are guinea pigs in the great football experiment of seeing whether this small-school guy can actually play. Thank you for risking your career and your health, but, well, we're not actually trying to win." Veteran players get royally PI$$ED when management does that. And you get a bad reputation around the league. Free agents don't want to play for you if they don't think management is committed to winning.

If Kyle Sloter is going to be an NFL quarterback, he's going to have to prove himself the way Adam Thielen did -- by busting his butt on the practice squad and earning his place.
