Wow yeah I've been a big supporter of his but he didn't look good last game

I would like to see Sirles play a little more at guard I think he is better inside than out at tackle.

here's a little perspective on PFF rankings.

Xavier Rhodes is ranked as the # 87th CB
Trey Waynes is ranked as the # 84th CB
Terrance Newman is the 33rd ranked CB
Mackensie Alexander is the 23rd ranked CB

So essentially PFF ranks Xavier rhodes as the worst CB on the team.

I don't think you can disagree with his statement regarding 'average teams' because that is basically true. But without Bradford we really aren't even an average team - I will agree with that.

That alone erases any credibility PFF had with me.

Totally misleading because penalties don't always happen in a vacuum.

You can't just discount the PIs as silly penalties because in both cases the CB was burned and it most likely would have been a TD if not for the blatant PI.
So, if not for the penalties, Big Ben would have had 2TDs and 200 yards passing after Trae tackled the Pitt WR well before the ball got there.

The holds also weren't random. Easton was holding because he was consistently getting beaten and holding was his last resort. They weren't ticky tack calls.

I agree on some of the other penalties though...such as the illegal formation on the FG and the BRob offsides. Seriously BRob - you are a veteran and every single person watching knew they weren't going to run the play on 4th and 1 at their own 30 in the 1st qtr, they were just trying to make a fool jump. Both of these penalties were totally preventable and totally inexcusable. And the BRob penalty did continue a drive that ended in 7 points.
Totally agree.

I don't think that's true. Any team that starts their #2 with less than a week of practice will struggle. Doesn't mean the team is average.

Unfortunately the qb is a major part of the team, so generally how the qb plays so goes the team (at least on offense). So you think the team was 'above average' yesterday.

Defense is part of the team though. The team is not below average. If Keenum was the #1 during camp and preseason, I would think the offense would have performed better. The offensive performance was below average because of their QB situation.

I'm not saying the team overall for the season will be below average, but what I'm saying is that with the situation yesterday with Keenum having to fill in at the last minute made them a below average team for yesterday's game. The defense probably was about average, but definitely not the offense or special teams.

The larger point in my post was that you have to expect that a team like PIT, especially playing at home, will make plays. Defensively the only way they were able to make such plays was via our guys committing fouls. That is fixable, given that it is week 2. Also, the defense is going to make mistakes, this is the NFL, everyone is good. That is why you need your offense to balance out the defense. Our offense was awful and that is why we lost.

That loss was not on the defense. It was all about the play at QB.
