Boone, Clemmings, Beavers and Kerin gone. At least they moved on from their mistakes. Though Kerin had a good camp ,just no room at guard and center.
We actually have a whole new line this year with the exception of Berger who started at center last year.

With Boone the zone blocking scheme was his downfall. A ballsy move getting rid of him.
I look for us to pick somebody up off of waivers

Wow, that's a surprise. They must have a lot of confidence in the other young guys.

Yeah I see Aviante Collins made it. He had some upside coming out as a tackle but went undrafted. I like how they're looking to get younger up front. Outside of Berger this line is pretty young

the real issue last season was depth or the lack thereof. it remains to be seen if that situation is resloved.
dumping clemmings and beavers was a good step IMO...boone? he wouldn't take a pay cut, could not stay healthy and shot his mouth of pretty regularly. good riddance i say....but it's unlikely they go the year without injuries and he would've have been solid depth.

True. Hill is great depth. I liked that we kept Collins so I do like our tackle depth. I was planning on Easton being the depth piece of the whole interior since he can play OG and C. Now he's starting so that leaves Isadora and Sirles pretty much. Not terrible but it great. Maybe Sirles is a better OG. Isadora looked solid in the preseason

maybe they will snag another guy who gets cut?
the browns let go of a guy today who can play both guard positions. forget his name.
but aside from boone being gone, this group looks better to me on paper.
hill is a significant upgrade over clemmings. no fusco and no replacing center/rt before week one.
at the very least they are starting who they like from the getgo rather than scramble to replace phil and sully. was that last year? i can't keep track lol

I would have liked to have been in the room when Slick Rick asked Boone to take a pay cut.
I bet Boone whispered all kinds of sweet nothing's in Ricks ear.

Thus another reason Boone is probably gone.

I'm a little surprised that forbath made it over Koehn. I wonder if gherkin vikings were rebuilding if they would give the young stronger legged kicker.

They wanted the more consistent guy.

I'd be surprised if this is the final team, there could be a move or two made tomorrow. Collins being the most likely candidate to not make it to me. Not sure how I feel about Boone, we were looking like we had good interior depth, now it looks shaky. Maybe a cap casualty to sign someone else, we'll see.

Eric Wilson beating Edmond Robinson out of a job is a bit of a surprise given Robinson was the early favorite to take over for Greenway but Wilson was all over the field in preseason and likely deserved it.

It will also be interesting to see who they eventually cut for Floyd.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Boone cutting. I get that the NFL is about value with the salary cap and clearly Boone's play did not match is pay grade. However with the complete dumpster fire of an OL last year I wouldn't have minded overpaying for some quality depth.

11 rookies (including 3 UDFA) made the team- over 20% of the roster. That seems high. Not sure if this is a reflection of a great rookie class or a very weak existing roster. Maybe a little bit of both.

I thought Robinson outplayed Lamur. A bit surprised by that one.

I really don't like them choosing Adams over Jones.....bit of a head scratcher because Adams looked to be a fail most of the preseason.

Blake Bell TE from SF made the 53. Not sure who will be cut to make room.

Practice squad so far:
Elijah Lee
Kyler Sloter QB
Bronson Hill
Ifeadi Odenigbo
Horace Richardson
Dylan Bradley
Cayleb Jones

Kerin, Robinson, and Clemmings have made other team rosters.
