How much would you pay for AP to come back for 1 year?
Pick the closest amount.
Current highest paid RBs:
Le'Veon Bell $12.2 million (franchise tag) LeSean McCoy $8 million Jonathan Stewart $7.3 million Doug Martin $7.2 million Lamar Miller $6.5 million

I would go up to $8 million assuming we are able to still get decent OL help and keep Patterson.

Two surgically repaired knees. Has lost a step, or two... gets caught from behind now Ball security issues Can't pass protect, making him a 2-down back. Has lost his elusiveness... no "squirt through the hole", if you will 32 years old
$2 million, tops. Use him situationally. Not a workhorse anymore.

I would cut them a check to *not* re-sign him. I want more than yds/ypc. I want blocks. Receptions. Play fakes. Proper route running. Knowing the playbook. etc etc etc. If they can't find that with whomever is replacing him, it still means they'll most likely be forced to try and find that guy sooner rather than later.

I voted 2 mil mainly because I'm ready to move on but if we are keeping him then it needs to be a bargain.

Re: How much would you pay for AP to come back for 1 year?
I voted that I wouldn't resign him. He's just too one dimensional and the speed that made him a future HOFer isn't there anymore. He's not very good catching the ball and a nightmare in pass protection. When he's on the field they're either running or playing 10 versus 11.
If they were to resign him I believe the team would feel pressure to again make him a focus of the offense to the detriment of the passing game. I loved his years here, but I'm ready to move on.

Re: How much would you pay for AP to come back for 1 year?
I truly hope we don't bring him back as sad as it is to say that. We need to get younger. It seems like Spielman is looking at durability which I'm glad to see. That's what we got in both tackles. Murray is fairly durable although I still think we will draft a RB. There is no need anymore for AP in this system. We aren't a ground a pound team and run primarily out of the gun. We need to move on

He is effing old by RB standards, he has ALWAYS been fragile (only played 70% of games since drafted) and now he is worn down and fragile to boot. Yes he will probably have a couple of highlight worthy games, maybe even close in on 200 yards in a game once but the "AP carries team to playoffs" days are gone. He is 32, he'll be half way to 33 by the time the season starts. He'll be lining up against folks that are a DECADE younger than him in some cases. Its not about how much is left in his tank, its about how big his tank is now.
