Brian Hoyer signed with the 49ers pretty quickly after free agency started.

Seriously though, if the Vikings would have drafted McCarron this thread would be moot, as I suggested. And Bradford as well. And we could have drafted a couple more questionable WR's.

What is a ‘bust?’
There's also the simple Webster's Dictionary definition:
More at the link.First, let’s define the word “bust.” Over the last few years I have always defined a bust as a player who does not play up to the level expected from where he was drafted. In saying that, it can be a lot easier for a player drafted in the top 5 to be a bust than it is for a player taken in the bottom 5 of the first round. Much more is expected of a top 5 player since he is supposedly one of the elite players in his class.
Busts aren’t just players who fail that were first-round picks but also players who were former second- and third-round picks. After the third round I feel it’s almost impossible to label a player who didn’t work out as a bust
There's also the simple Webster's Dictionary definition:
bust
noun
a complete failure : flop

is that versus mean boobs? Are they like Hurricane Gussie? (Old truck driver joke, gene tracey)
I think further research is needed.
We're going to need some kind of proof of this claim. Of course if this proof doesn't land any of us in jail.
Kidding of course.

Round 4? Taking a QB is a crap shoot in round 1. 50% of them in round 1 fail.PurpleMustReign wrote:In other words, no he isn't a bust. And even still, I don't 5hink anyone taken after round 4 can ever be considered a bust since at that point it is a crap shoot anyway.

Heineke did well enough to warrant him as the two or three qb.Raptorman wrote: Round 4? Taking a QB is a crap shoot in round 1. 50% of them in round 1 fail.
I see no reason not to draft and keep drafting qb's until we find that guy. Whether or not we already did remains to be seen. No reason to stop. Did the Patriots?

Pats had good backup QB play this past season.

Re: Backup QB?
The thing is, Teddy may not be ready if Sam gets hurt early on, or even midway through the season. For that knee to just give out like that has me so worried. Thats why I would lean to Heineke, instead of a draft. He at least has a little experience with the players and plays. In fact I would make Heineke #2 QB for a while. Hurts to say it cause I love Teddy and think he could be good someday, but Heineke maybe be good the first day of the regular season if we had too.
Re: Backup QB?
This is why I'm in favor of drafting Peterman. I think he can pick up the system and run it in less time than some of the other QB's.

Re: Backup QB?
For the life of me I cannot figure out how we as fans can come up with viable options and solutions in certain areas and we draft a wr that was not on too many radars when we could have upgraded positions that are of need again this year. Wtf? I think a collective of us fans could do a better job on draft day. I could turn this team into a perennial winner in 3 drafts or less. Book it. Especially with the time and tools these dorks have to work with.S197 wrote:This is why I'm in favor of drafting Peterman.
