Cheaper options and not a decline in performance for those options, I'm guessing. I don't know who they have at 3rd string, but they're rookie is Devontae Booker who they are high on. He was great in college at Utath, though unheralded, and will probably eventually be really good for Denver.losperros wrote:From what I was told by a Broncos fan, there was a logjam of young running backs in Denver.
Hillman was going to fight for the 3rd RB spot, but the Broncos liked someone else.
Hillman is 25 years old, can run and catch, and he even has some speed (4.45/40). He's a good acquisition, in my view.

Even the threat of Peterson playing would make DC have to think. No, wait, not with our offensive offensive line.DMB1MT wrote:Hillman waived. AD making his return soon?
Vikings fan since Nov. 6, 1966. Annoying Packer fans since Nov. 7, 1966

Re: Ronnie Hillman?
Would rather have peterson running into the backs of our olineman for a one yard gain than Asiata or Mckinnon. At least he has the big play potential.

Re: Ronnie Hillman?
Hillman was just released so they could bring Weatherly (DE) up from the practice squad. Maybe they were worried that some team was going to grab Weatherly?

Adrian Peterson finished consuming Hillman's talent for his recovery. He requires a fresh running back.

Adrian Peterson continues to close in on a return from knee surgery, and could be back next month: es.pn/2gDdMdlDMB1MT wrote:Hillman waived. AD making his return soon?

Re: Ronnie Hillman?
This actually could be true. I never thought of it that way. Thats what happened with Rashod Hill. Jacksonville knew we wanted him and they asked him if he would stay if they put him on the active roster but he chose the other route.soflavike wrote:Hillman was just released so they could bring Weatherly (DE) up from the practice squad. Wouldnt be surprised if thats what happened with Weatherly. We better hope we don't have a RB go down now though. Although, if they do, we could see a lot of CP in the backfield which could very well turn the running game around

Just watched Zims presser today. The reason Hillman was cut was because someone was going after Weatherly
