No harm done. I wasn't angry.Jordysghost wrote:Woah Jim, relax, I meant no offense, I apologize if that came of as snarky or something.
Yes, it sounds like you misunderstood me. Again, no harm done.I must have misunderstood your comment about other teams 'Actually winning'. I read that and just thought that, the Vikes are 'actually winning' as well.

@Andrew_Krammer Zimmer finds doubter ammo to throw at players, this week: haven't beat winning team since Sept 28, 2014. "Mentioned in meetings," Fusco said

Not too bad. We are right up there with Denver in D. By listening to some on this board its like we have no talented players or coaches.Purple bruise wrote:Vikings reach #6 on defense and the "Puke" drop to 18th

Im one of Teddy's biggest supporters, wanted him pre draft in the worst way, and I have seen enough to think he has a chance of becoming a good QB. Putting the ball where our talented receivers can catch it. Tough enough to take the hits. Good enough to fool the D on play action pass.
I think a lot of members here are pissed we didnt pick Carr over Teddy. Hindsight is 20/20. We didnt get Car. Deal with it. I dont know if they think Hill is the future here, or if they want Taylor to start even though Teddy has a winning record. With just over a season of starts.
I am very glad the focus now seems to be on the D. I pray Waynes is as good as expected (by the pros, not me, I never expected anything from him, and hope Im wrong).

I can't think of a single person on this board who has implied anything so extreme about the current roster or coaching staff.PurpleKoolaid wrote:Not too bad. We are right up there with Denver in D. By listening to some on this board its like we have no talented players or coaches.

I don't think "a lot" of members here are ticked that the Vikes didn't draft Carr anyway. However, he was a legitimate option for them, with superior arm talent, and they chose Bridgewater instead. That's inevitably going to invite comparisons.
I think people really just want to see more out of Bridgewater. His overall production has been pretty disappointing and he was drafted to put an end to this kind of production at the QB position for the Vikings.

Re: 2015 Season General Comments (pressers, practice notes,
You should know by now I exaggerate quite a bit here by now Jim There just was a lot of negativity, mostly about Teddy, but some were going even further. Not extreme, just grumbling. And its odd for me to be the optimistic one and not negative, or realist, as I like to say.
Im just praying whatever it is that Teddy shows when making some throws, can be fixed. If I can see it, im sure the coaches have. He just isnt strong enough to throw without proper form. Thats why a good line is needed, he has to learn how to throw, then he can work on just using his arms or hips to throw. And I have no idea what some of those huge overthrows are all about, the ball just really gets away from him.

It certainly doesn't look like there are any problems in his game that can't be corrected. It's just a question of whether they actually get corrected. I'm really hoping they can make it work. The thought of starting over at QB again in a few years is pretty unappealing. Maybe we'll see more substantial progress as this season moves forward! There just was a lot of negativity, mostly about Teddy, but some were going even further. Not extreme, just grumbling. The Vikings are up to 8th in these Power Rankings.
I think that's pretty good considering we got embarrassed by San Fran in our only primetime game.

Mauti had a good day with the Saints today. 5 tackles 4 assists.
I still follow him and Hodges. Hodges 1 tackle today.
Edit: Greenway 8 tackles 2 assists today, that's pretty impressive

Re: 2015 Season General Comments (pressers, practice notes,
christomasson Mike Zimmer said the Vikings have to do a better job on third downs on offense and the defense sometimes has some lapses. Zimmer said some defensive lapses don't allow the Vikings to be an "elite defense.''
@christomasson Mike Zimmer said he thinks Teddy Bridgewater should be "good to go.'' Sunday at Oakland. Has passed first test. Still has to pass another test.
@christomasson Mike Zimmer declined to say any possible conversations he had with the NFL on the hits on Teddy Bridgewater.
@ArifHasanNFL "There's more than one hit I was upset about" - Zimmer, when asked about the hit to the knees. Won't say if that was one.
Theme with Zimmer on injuries: seems to say if something is minor and if he expects guys to be OK/play (example: Peterson, Teddy) or if they're definitively out for the season (example: Cole, Sully). Doesn't say much with guys he's not sure about, which is hardly surprising. We'll be left twisting on Barr, Kendricks & Floyd for a spell. Great news about Teddy, though.@ArifHasanNFL He doesn't know about Kendricks' availability for next week.

I sure do enjoy watching and listening to Zimmer. The Vikings are fortunate to have him as their head coach.
