According to the chairman of the league's competition committee, Rich McKay, the NFL might. Speaking with Sam Farmer of The Los Angeles Times, McKay revealed that the NFL might take a look at the gloves worn by players and see if they are giving players too much of an advantage.
"I think it's time to go back and look at the gloves and see if, with what's going on here with sports science in the past 10 years, if there isn't too much of an advantage being gained," McKay said.
McKay is hardly alone in his thinking. In Farmer's article, he quotes multiple former players, including Tim Brown, Cris Collinsworth, John Madden, and Rich Gannon, who all seem to indicate that "tackified" gloves might be enhancing the performance of players too much.
