Here's a Vikings only 7 round mock draft. Agree with most picks on here.

It would be great if Mack fell to 8 and Mett in the 3rd is good value. Hyde doesn't make any sense to me, not with Bucannon, Ward, Jean-Baptise, Desir on the board. Tons of value in the secondary to be had. It would suck if Van Noy goes one pick ahead like that. Heck even Kelvin Benjamin on the board in the 2nd round is tempting.

I saw this mock draft too and I agree that Hyde doesn't make any sense this early in the draft. I think that if we switched G or a defensive back in Bucannon or Jean-Baptise to the 2nd round and then took a RB in the 4-5th range it would make much more sense. Also a WR in the 4th makes no sense.. We have Jennings, Patterson, Wright, Rodney Smith, and I almost forgot Simpson.

Who's being linked to the Vikings in last-minute mock drafts?

Bortles is overwhelming pick (6 of 10). 2 Mosley. 2 Donald.

If they really wanted Donald would Rick Spielman be explaining to the media why he would be a perfect fit for the Vikings 3 days before the draft?

I hope we can trade back and pick up Mosley then trade up to the end of the first for another impact player, probably a QB such as Garapollo.
That's exactly my take. Spielman is getting a little too easy to read, I'm afraid. Then again, if they DO take Donald, then it marks an even more advanced level of subterfuge on his part… THE RICKER.

I don't think he's easy to read or at least that remains to be seen. :) After all, at this moment, just over 24 hours before the draft, do we really have any idea what the Vikings will do? We don't know what position or player they're targeting at #8 or even if they want an offensive or defensive player. We don't know if they want trade up to the Rams spot or down to the Cowboys #16 pick. It seems to me like Spielman has done a great job of creating a murky picture of the Vikes plans this year.

If we end up with Bortles or Carr...it's going to be Ponder all over again!

NFL.com folks (Daniel Jeremiah, Charles Davis, Charley Casserly, Bucky Brooks): http://www.nfl.com/draft/2014/mock-drafts

Three Mosley's and a Mack.

Has us going with Gilbert.

I don't get his thought process, says we've never been the same since Winfield yet passes on the best tackling corner in the draft. Plus Dennard is physical and can play press. Maybe he's thinking with Gilbert having such high upside, fits in well with a guy like Zimmer. I still like Dennard over all the other corners.

I should clarify that the comments/analysis under the pick are not those by Mayock.

I can deal with that. I didn't realize Jean-Baptiste is expected to creep into round one. I think I must have missed that somewhere. I think I'm thinking of all the little mock drafts done on here. I thought I saw him going a lot in the third or so? Who knows? I've read so much draft stuff lately that I could be losing it. :D

One of the most "different" top-50s I've seen: http://presnapreads.com/2014/05/07/rank ... -to-watch/

Manziel, Bortles, Dennard, Gilbert way down. Some surprises take their place at the top.

Do you seriously think that Spielman is going to pick the guy that he explicitly mentions in interviews leading up to the draft as being a great fit? It isn't like the reporter asked him point blank--What do think of Donald. The Ricker offered it up. I'll be very surprised if that's truly our pick at 8.
