Nah, it's more likely that Seattle is trying to low-ball him.

Good for Jared. He's made his money. Now he wants shot at a ring. I hope he doesn't get it because that means the Vikings won't but it's probably about his best shot.

I was so excited when the Vikings got him and he didn't disappoint. He was definitely a difference maker. I wish him well against everybody except the Vikings.

Jared Allen leaves Seattle Seahawks without contract: "It's rare for a player to visit a team twice in free agency. It's even more rare that the second visit doesn't result in a deal."

Allen is 2 years younger than Peppers.

GB played against Peppers and Allen at least twice a year for the last 2-3 years, meaning they have plenty of tape and 'real' experience vs both.

Both Peppers and Allen were available as free agents.

GB signed Peppers to a multi-year deal averaging around $10M/year (I believe that's the correct math?) and passed on Allen

The 'reported, unofficial' contact that Allen was offered by Seattle was for $12M/3years ($4M avg. per year)

GB are not bad decision makers or bad at identifying talent. Allen is not who he used to be.
GB also runs a 34 defense, which doesn't suit Allen very well. You could argue it doesn't suit Peppers very well either but I think of the two, Allen is a better hand in the dirt type player which he couldn't do in that defense. I'll be interested to see how they utilize Peppers.

Probably because if Allen would be on the team....Rogers would have night mares :D How many sacks did Allen have on Rogers?

I am conflicted on this one .. I loved Allen
On the Vikings but I agree the last few years
he was less effective. I hate the sea chickens
maybe more than the Packers now. I will never
root for the Sea Chickens but Seattle is cool city.

I hope Allen has a good life after football but
I wish the Sea Chickens nothing but bad luck.

I have no problem with the Seahawks outside of their gigantic band wagon fan base (out of nowhere indie rock friends of mine who claim to be fans since the 80's...who didn't even live in Washington originally) and Sherman. Sherman, however, is an amazing player who is smart but comes off as a total tool. Although I do look forward to Crabtree vs Sherman 2x next year.

Seattle is a cool city. They've got an insanely rich owner and have been smart under this current regime of when to let players go: Carlson, Hasselbeck, and even putting Flynn on the bench after giving him a big contract. Lynch is awesome and his "Just bout' that action, boss", quote of his is absolutely hilarious/$$$

The better question might be "how good would the seahawks be without all our crappy overpaid players!"

He wanted to get a ring huh. Should have gone to SeaHawks "cause it is not happening with the Bears. I will enjoy watching AD running over and around him.
