World Series Thread

Post by vikesfan87 »

Any predictions? Thoughts?
I think we might be looking at a seven game series this year. It's honestly a toss-up as to who wins, but I'm leaning towards the Cardinals simply because they've had momentum on their side for months.

I know that this might not be a popular opinion here, but I kind of felt sorry for the Brewers given that they haven't been in a World Series since 1982. I don't have the dislike for the other Wisconsin sports teams that I do for the Packers, guess it's because of my geographic location.

Meh, I wanted to see Tigers vs. Brewers

I'm gonna say Cardinals win in 7 games, with Punto hitting a walkoff HR to win the series :D

I wanted Detroit/Milwaukee too. Id rather cheer for Delmon than Punto.

just amazed at the depth the rangers have with their pitching. i like the rangers in 6 but wouldn't be surprised if it only goes 5...

I HATE JOE BUCK. It's unreal how he's regarded as a good announcer. He's so utterly lacking in personality and style...it shouldn't be hard for FOX to find some better announcers...MY GOD

I'm not really sure who outside of Fox management regards him as a good announcer. The one I'll always remember is the Tyree catch in the SB. Can you imagine that called by someone with some sense of drama? Al Michaels would have killed that call. Gus Johnson's head would have exploded. Buck's call, you think it's a normal rollout and 5 yard pass.

What's even crazier is that he was given his own talk show. I'm not sure if it's even on anymore, but it's just mind-boggling that someone with such a dull personality would be given a talk show. I don't get it, Buck must have some incriminating photos of a high-powered TV exec or something. Maybe he's sleeping his way to the top? Haha

Ya Pujols was pretty amazing. Guy picked a great time to have a career-best game, being a free agent after the season & all.

That's followed up by a 2 hitter.

Bet we see 7 games.

What a game!!! I feel bad for Texas. One out away from the title, and they lost it. I don't wish those kinds of things on any team outside of Wisconsin ;)

That was an excellent game! I bet Texas wishes they had a real closer. One strike away, two times in the same game, ouch. I really want Texas to win, but Im afraid all the momentum is now on St Louis side.

I hate Joe Buck so much. flat lines the whole game as usual. I kept thinking he really wanted Texas to win so he wouldn't have to work game 7. And then at the end, rips off his dad's call from 20 years ago.
