Then after that site shut down I venture to the message board on the official Vikings.com website under my current username JEC334. JEC is the initials of my full name. And 334 is the area code in which I live in.

To tell you a little bit about myself I am 21, in college at Alabama State University. The same college that Tarvaris Jackson went to school at. Im majoring in Computer Science. I plan to move to Minnesota once I finish college. I wanna stay close to the Vikings so I can attend games on Sundays.
I'll see you there! ;) When do you plan on moving to Minnesota anyway? Either way, you're going to freeze to death.

I should be done with school by the time the new stadium gets here so im looking at then. As for the cold, i dont mind. Though I will miss the hot weather in Alabama, it will be worth the travel. Plus I always wanted to visit the mall of america.

It looks like we have close to the same goal: finish school and get our...butts up to Minnesota! Great plan!

Travel? Visit? We are talking about moving to Minnesota here. You'll have PLENTY of time for the Mall of America. lol. As a matter of fact, I think you'll visit it yet this year. It's pretty fun. I visit almost every time I go up. It's getting a little old though because I've been there so much, so a lot of times now I waste time watching movies as my friends/family explore the Mall. :D It's still a great time, though.

As far as the weather, I grew up in the Midwest, so the cold doesn't bother me either. The heat, though? I hate the heat. I could NEVER live in the South. I'd be dead by now. I use air conditioning from like April-October...and that is up HERE. lol. Anything much above 70 and I'm irritated! :D I'll take 0 degrees over 100 degrees 10 times out of 10--even 90 degrees, some days 80. lol. Maybe I should have been from Canada. ;)

Hi all!

Thought I'd try to introduce myself...
Been looking for a new site to discuss the Vikings after the last one I was a member of has become a... well unpleasant environment, and this one looks promising.

I'm a relatively new Vikings fan. I "discovered" football in the 2010 season and it was actually Ponder and his performance in his first game against the Packers that made me a Viking fan. Most of that season was spent on learning the basics of this wonderful sport since it's not native to my country.
Then last season I got more into the details and became a very dedicated fan, I even went to Minneapolis to watch a game in person(the awesome win against the 49ers).

This season will be more of the same and I'm going to watch two games live(one home and one on the road), can't wait for the season to kick off! SKOL! :v):

Welcome to the site. :) I'm fairly new-ish to the site, too. (There are some real lifers on here lol) With that said, it's a great message board, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot. I'm familiar with the "unpleasant" you're referring to. :) You won't get much of that nonsense here.

I want to give you props for being so active in your new hobby! For you to be such a new fan--and so far away--I'm shocked you're making such an effort to attend games and such. That's awesome! There's nothing better than seeing the Vikes play at home. :) I'm glad you got to experience it so early in your fanhood. :) I was at that Niners game, too. ;) Which games are you going to this season?

The intricacies of football is what makes it exciting, all the little details of every down, so much to study and learn, so you kind of have to be active, imo.

I hadn't planned to attend any games this season, but my travel plans changed a bit and all of a sudden I could attend two games. It'll be the home game against Carolina and the away game against the Giants. (I'll also attend a game in Nashville, no vikings tho).

Gonna try and make a name for myself here and hopefully someone will take my under their wing and take me tailgating.
Tried tailgating last year, but being a silent, shy scandinavian made things difficult...

I'm sure you'll have a blast at your games--even the TN game. Who are they playing?

This year I'll be attending three games: Browns, Packers, and Lions.

Yeah. It's probably a little difficult to tailgate and such if you don't know anyone! :D Maybe you'll make a few friends and get to experience that! I hope so!

They play the 49ers, should be a good game and I get to watch it with friends that happen to be in TN at the same time :)

Yeah, hopefully I can make some friends

Hey y'all,

Looks like I'm making this my home for Vikings stuff now! Got a few posts under my fingertips, and it looks like a good place to hang out.

As you can see, I'm in TN, we're about an hour from Nashville. My night job is HR and my 'day job' consists of making sure DH, my 2 furkids and a greenhouse full of orchids stay alive and happy.

DH and I are from MN, but the Halloween Blizzard of '91 cemented our plans to relocate. Both of us like it warmer, and since we've been in TN we have not seen any below 0 temps!

Looking forward to a great season, Sunday Ticket is all set up.

GO VIKES!!! :smilevike:

Hello everyone.

I have read this board for a bit of time and became and member about a year ago. I love this site and its posters. Living in Canada its hard sometimes in a town of 5000 to find a NFL fan let alone a Viking fan witch is one of the reasons I enjoy this site, having tones of knowledgeable Viking fans to chat and celebrate with. I truly feel became an NFL during the 06 year and the Vikings (even not the most talented at the time) appealed to me. Since then I have been bleeding purple and have not missed one Viking game since. The more seasons I watch I enjoy and love football more and more. I was pleasant surprised with the overall team in 2012, and am completely stoked for the 2013 season, go Vikings! SHOW YOUR HORNS. :v):

Hey guys, I've been a lurker for about a year now and finally decided to sign up.

I'm 22 and live in Missouri. I've been a Vikings fan since 1998 (My dad was a Bears fan and the first game I paid any attention to was the second game against the Bears when Randy couldn't be stopped). My first really vivid memory was the Moss-to-Williams lateral in Denver, and the first season I followed every game was '03. Being young and out of market, I had to rely on ESPN highlights for years. I started buying the Audio Pass on NFL.com in '07 and started watching the games any way possible in '09.

I love this team, and I hope I add to the conversation in a positive way!

I'm sure you'll love being a part of the message board. Hopefully the Vikes give us a lot of good things to talk about. :)

...sorry you live in Misery, I mean...Missouri. I'm only kidding. I have a friend who lives down there and she's called it that before. Do you live in Northern or Southern Missouri? Ever been to a game? The drive has got to be about ridiculous unless you live in the North, I'm assuming. Yuck.

Hi all, I finally decided to sign up, I have been on this site reading posts for quite some time now. Not sure why it took a few days to finally activate it, maybe it was my name, anyways I have been a diehard Viking fan for about 15 years now, I went to my first game last year down in Seattle unfortunately we lost but it was awesome, other then the crazy rude fans down there, luckily I was just behind the Vikings bench so I had a bunch of Viking fans to cheer with. I live in Vancouver Canada so that's the closest they come, so ill be down there again this year and hopefully get the W this time. I would love to travel to Minnesota and catch a game there sometime in the future.

Can't wait for the season to start!! got my NFL Sunday ticket ready

I've never been able to afford a Vikings game, unfortunately. I've been to one NFL game, Chiefs at Rams. My NFL life has not been charmed...
