I listen to mostly classical, but also a good amount of heavy metal/rock, jazz, and some funk.

Re: Music tastes?
I listen to mostly metal and have been getting into underground noise music lately, harsh stuff and calmer ambient stuff.
I tend to stay away from the commercial mainstream pop stuff, but I do still enjoy stuff from bands like Pink Floyd, C.C.R., Neil Young, ZZ Topp, etc....Actually I like lots of different kinds of music, from classical to folk/world to the most extreme sick & twisted black/death metal. I just really hate pop-country, modern rap/hiphop, top 40 pop, and christian pop/rock (I can appreciate older forms of Christian music like choir and monk chantings.)
Tell me this: what is your favorite Metallica album? That will tell me what kind of metal fan you are

good answer, you pass the test. Ride the Lightning is one of the best metal albums ever. Slayer's Reign in Blood is up there for me as well. Now its our time wrote:ride the lightning or the master of puppets album
For those of you who like heavier music, I would highly recommend the Melvins and Neurosis.

Re: Music tastes?
I'm into all kinds of music depending on my mood. Everything from classic rock (Led Zep, The Who, Pink Floyd, early Genesis, Rush) to heavy metal (Metallica, Megadeth, Faith No More, Anthrax) to country (Toby Keith, Alan Jackson) to early rap (Run DMC, Public Enemy) to "alternative" (Cranberries, Pearl Jam) to 80s one hit wonders to 90s one hit wonders... name it, and I probably own a CD that fits that style of music. More recently (last 10 years) I've been getting into a lot of European metal bands (Lacunia Coil, Within Temptation, Nightwish.)

Re: Music tastes?
I listen mostly to classic rock. But I like everything from ABBA to ZZ Top, including pop stars like Sonny and Cher and the Monkees and hard rockers like Ozzy and Metallica. There's even a few current artists I like: Pink, No Doubt, Justin Timberlake, Black Eyed Peas. I like big band music and singers like Dean and Frank and Tom Jones, too.

Re: Music tastes?
Nowadays I listen to almost anything. I was a huge fan of Rap but that was because I grew up in that enviornment and hanged out with people that liked it. Such as 50cent, Ludacris, Snoopdog, DMX, Ja Rule etc. I don't listen to it anymore because it sucks. It's mostly rock now and a little bit of that pop music.
I like Linkin Park, Creed, Staind, Crossfade, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, 3 Doors Down, Bullet for my Valentine, U2, Daughtry, Trust Company, Foo Foo Fighters, Yellowcard, All American Rejects, 30 Seconds to Mars, Dashboard Conffessional, Goo Goo Dolls, Killswitch Engage Lifehouse My Chemical Romance,P.O.D, Paramore, Puddle of Mudd, Justin Timberlake, Rise Agaisnt, Skillet, Story of the year, Sum 41, 3 days of grace
