One should consider the impact of David Stern's wrath on the Wolves for the Joe Smith contract debacle even though every team in the NBA did similar free agent guarantees with a wink and a nudge. In 2000, Stern fined Minnesota for $3.5 million, the largest team fine in league history, and stripped the franchise of three first-round draft picks, the largest penalty in any major league sport.

That certainly sheds new light on the issue. What about the coaching? Has that played a big factor at all with the team? They have gone thru 2 or 3 coach's if my memory serves correct.
The last two coaches, not counting McHale as a coach, were not great.

What is even more frustrating is that they did it with not only Garnett, but also with Ray Allen whom the Timberwolves traded away on draft day.

I do not understand why the Timberwolves kept wasting draft picks on the big center and point guards. The Wolves traded away Ray Allen on draft day for a point guard. The Wolves traded away Brandon Roy on draft day for a point guard. The Wolves traded away O.J. Mayo for a power forward. The Wolves spent many McHale era draft picks on big men - none of them making an impact.

Just wanna tell you, that you cannot say that the Love/Mayo trade was a bad trade because she far its not.
Rookie Stats of the Two

Oj Mayo
82 GP, 38 MPG, 43.8 FG % 38% 3pt 87% from the Free Throw line
Averaged 18.5 PPG with 3.8 Rebounds and 3.2 assists

Kevin Love
81 GP (only 37 started because Wittman was not very smart and WANTED love to come off the bench)
11 PT 9 Rebs
only 25 MPG
45% FG did not really have a 3PT because Wittman did not want him to shoot 3s
He did shoot 78% FT which is legit for a bigman

Mayo scored 7 more points in 13 more minutes PG
Love Averaged around 6 rebounds more with less Tournovers and a better FG %

This year
Mayo 26 GP
17 PPG and 3 Rebounds

Love
only 9 GP but has been better than Mayo in the 9 Games. 14 PPG 12 rebounds. hes a monster and had flashes of those numbers last year!

Mayo is a chucker.
Love is very efficient.

Dont wanna cause any trouble and im not bashing you. im just a HUGE twolves fan :burp:
