Tiger shreds the Buick Open

Post by jackal »

Tiger woods wins his fourth or Fifth Buick open in a row.

By eight strokes over the rest of the field. In his new conference

Tiger said that he is getting better and still has holes in his game.

This has got to just thrill the rest of the tour that Tiger is getting better.

I think even Jordan didn't dominate his sport like Tiger does.

Tiger used to be good for overall golf revenues. But if he's going to win by eight strokes ...

Anyway, I'll still root passionately for the guy even if he overpowers his sport, let alone his competition.

I know what you mean ... but at the same time I think he's raising the bar for his sport and in the end will make it better.

Tiger is a great example of what an athlete should be. He's humble, he dominates, and he still tries to improve his game.

idiot

Some idiot Golfer from England I think said if he was playing up
to his potential only him and tiger would be in the running either.

The guy hasn't even won anything in the PGA and he says he as good
as Tiger Woods and no one in his league. the guy must be a
Brett Farve fan too.

Ian Poulter is his name. He's known more for his wacky clothing than for the quality of his golf game.

Win

Post by jackal »

Tiger wins again this weekend

I think it said he birdied 5-7 holes on the back nine
on the final day to pull away from the pack.

He won by a single stroke with five birdies on his last seven holes. And I think he finished the back nine with nine puts (he chipped in on one hole).

It's rare when you see a competitor defeat his sport, but that's what he's been doing lately. He's in Michael Jordon territory.

funny

I played with a guy that won the southwestern amateur
regional tournament once. He was a little better than scratch
golfer. He told me that he was about five shots from going on tour.
He told me Tiger and those guys were 20 great shots above that.

New member here.

I'm a golfer and have followed golf since the days of Palmer, Nicklaus, and Trevino. They were good. Tiger's better. Much better. They debate who's the greatest of all time -- Jack or Tiger. Not even close, IMO. When Woods passes the 100 tournament mark and 20-25 majors maybe the debate will be over.

The scary thing is we haven't seen Tiger's best game yet.

I think that debate ended. Jack's only hope to keep the crown is if Tiger gets injured, and Jack's too classy a guy to want that.
