The plane can seat over 800 people. They outfitted the first one for
luxury and still got almost 500 people on board.

Yeah, I've been keeping up on that. Huge plane. One thing about it. It's going to make for one huge record death toll when they plant one of those in the pavement.

It'll be quite some time before they get one up around 800. Most airlines want at least some first class and biz class and premium economy. 800 is straight economy. As a comparison, very few carriers use the 747 in a full economy configuration. They just did certification for 853 (which means that everyone has to be able to get out in 90 seconds), just in case and because it sounds like a big number.

Sorry, what goes up, MUST come down. And sometimes in a position not conducive to landing. :) Just like there's no such thing as an unsinkable boat.

Areobus has awesome saftey ratings in their planes.

There is always a chance of that though I suppose.

You're more likely to die driving to the airport than on the plane. Probably because there's more stupid automobile drivers than pilots.

Yeah, but my take on it has always been that if the engine quits on my car, I just pull off to the side of the road. If the engine quits on a plane....

Yeah thats true, but stats still show you're more likely to die in a car than on a plane.
