Re: Can someone enlighten me on who "Jim" is? Jim is one of the members of the ASFMV (alt.sports.football.mn.vikings) club. When many of us posted to that newsgroup we used our real names, and that's how many of us still refer to each other here.
IIRC, this site provided a refuge to Vikings fans refugees who streamed in from the troll-torn ASFMV. Kansas Viking and I think some others carved out the Vikings Message Board and gave us this great place to vent, console, theorize, and most importantly, debate with sincere and, for the most part, respectful fans of this and other teams.

I tried using usenet about a year ago and found out the hard way that my ISP dropped it. We sure did have some strange characters on ASFMV.
