Vikings Draft Party and Cheerleader Photos

Photos from the 2008 Miller Lite Vikings Draft Party are now up on the main site.

Also have the 2008 Minnesota Viking Cheerleader Page up for this year.

Draft party was a ton of fun this year. Seemed like there were a lot more people there this year than last. Lighting was terrible in most of the areas, but it was great that the Vikings allowed fans to be close to the stage for photos and stuff. They didn't allow that last year.

It was good seeing one of the heroes of my younger days there, Jim Marshall. I loved seeing Sidney Rice and Bernard Berrian wandering around with a video camera getting pictures of AD's MVP trophy.

Jared Allen was a crack up and I have to say a little bigger than I thought. Would have to say the highlight was when they trotted out Allen, Pat, Kevin, and Ray Edwards and introduced them as the New Purple People Eaters. Those guys were really enjoying it.

Great to have met all the people from the message board and tailgate lots there. I look forward to that Draft Party every year and it's a real pleasure meeting all of you there.

The cheerleaders had not had their final balloting for the 2008 squad, so it seemed there were a lot more of them out this year. The final auditions are tomorrow. Wish I could have stayed to see them, but there was that darn restraining order to contend with. :)

As usual, I will move this post to the Announcement section after a couple of days.

I think you can get advanced General Admission for $10 or $20 day of the event. Red Zone tickets are $60.

Allen was a real crack up and a fun guy. When asked what he thought of KC's pick, he said he really didn't care and hoped the guy was a flop. :)

Zygi is a very enthusiastic owner. He's been through the tailgate lots before. They guy gets in with the fans and has a good time. He was like a kid at Christmas Saturday. Had a big smile all day and you could tell he was happy they got Jared Allen.

Awesome Pictures

Mike -
Some AWESOME photos.
Thanks man.

Re the calendar. .... Hugh Hefner has a different magazine.
I think it was TOTALLY inappropriate for the cheerleaders to push stuff like that on kids. It sends the wrong message.

Cheerleader photos - fine. Centerfold shots NOT COOL FOR KIDS.

So sayeth the Vman.

Was there any conversation regarding the hopes for a new stadium and an steps that the organization might take to ensure that the Vikings stay in Minnesota?
