Post Traveling to Lambeau
I'm tired of sitting next to Packer fans in the Metrodome! Thats it! We're going to Lambeau this year to give some Packer fans a taste of their own medicine!

Ok so heres the rub, we know NOTHING about the area. We are going down Saturday and planning on staying in a hotel close to the stadium if possible and enjoying the cheesehead nightlife Sat and Sun nights. Does anyone know a good hotel to stay at? How bout the nightlife, any recommendations?? If you can help us plan this out it would be greatly appreciated.

I've never been there, but I had a buddy who went one year. He had a really great time and said the fans were all cool, and offered up beers and dogs in the tailgate lots (with a little ribbing of course). He said it was amazing at the game too...on the breaks between plays, they just play a some music and don't blast you with commercials at 10,000 dB! Sorry can't help with hotels and whatnot, hope you have a great trip!

This will be my 4th year straight going down there for the vikes/packers matchup. I stay at the super 8 off of Oneida dr. Rates aren't too bad, but I think they make you buy 2 night stays to stay in that hotel. It's a little far to walk to Lambeau too, I generally like to drive over so I can bring the tailgating stuff. Any questions, I'd be glad to try and help. Key word being TRY lol.

Lambeau Field has a great atmosphere about it. I love the flyovers from the jets during the national anthem.

I guess we'd like to stay in a hotel thats close to the nightlife and action as we will be staying Sat night and Sun night. I dont care how close we are to Lambeau as we will drive over and tailgate.

Im headed down for the game on 11/1. Does anyone know how the parking situation works there? Does the stadium having parking for non season ticket holders, etc. Also, what is the "Dress Code' For the game. Ive been a diehard Vikes fan since I was 7 but I don't want to look like a poser in my new Vikes Favre Jersey? Do I go old school jersey: Moss, Culpepper, Cunningham? Or Jared, Peterson, or Favre?

Screw 'em. Go with Favre. :o

Or you can play it safe with Allen or Peterson. Good luck.

Can I have all your stuff if you don't make it back alive?!

Nah jk. Packer fans may be stupid, but MOST of them (key: Most) are pretty cool. I wouldn't wear your Favre jersey unless you want even more verbal abuse (which is usually funny like what I got at my Cleveland Browns game this year). Just make sure you're wearing purple so everyone knows you're out there!

Hope you have a great time! Get some good pics! :govikes:

There are and will always be tons of Favre jerseys in Lambeau. They severely downplay that aspect on TV because it contradicts their narrative about Green Bay "hating" Brett Favre. Out of a 70,000 seat stadium, it only takes 30,000 boos to be super loud. But most fans remain quiet for Brett Favre stuff.

As for your jersey wear it anywhere because there are still tons of secret Favre fans who will talk to you about Favre stuff, but people are afraid to admit they still like Brett because of the obnoxious Packer fans.

There are tons of bars everywhere and GB isn't a sprawling Metropolis so you should be able to find place to drink OK with easy parking.

As for gameday, just get there early for tailgating which is still the best place in the world. Brett Favre's Steakhouse is right in the heart of everything and will have a tailgate party outside of there. ACtually at least 4-6 sports bars around Lambeau all have huge tailgate parties outside with bands and Packer legends, etc.

Although i hate what the Packers team has become, it still has the best football atmosphere anywhere in the world on gameday.

Went to the Viking/packer game and had a good time. Parking- we parked in the kmart lot next to Lamboo..20 bucks, if you goggle earth that area you will see it. I would have parked as far west as I could in that business area, as it is all parking, and getting out to lambardi ave took some time after the game. We got the tickets pretty late and stated in wittenburg, an hour away.
