Don't the officials know the rules?

Titans-Steelers, end of the first half, about a minute to go. Brown catches the ball, fumbles at the 42, and Bryant recovers at the 30. After three incompletions, the Steelers kick a 48 yard FG.

But they shouldn't have had the chance.
NFL rules wrote:If any player fumbles after the two-minute warning in a half, only the fumbling player is permitted to recover and/or advance the ball. If recovered by any other offensive player, the ball is dead at the spot of the fumble unless it is recovered behind the spot of the fumble.
How can the refs miss something so basic. The Steelers should have been attempting a 60 yard FG (which means, instead, a punt) instead of getting the extra three.

It always happens to benefit their favorite teams too. Packers, Steelers, Cowboys, Seahawks.

Did anyone from Tennessee touch the ball? That may be part of it too.

Imo the nfl needs to train and develop a much better
set of refs ... more money and year around work is needed
as well ...
