I'm not surprised. There seems to be a segment of every fan base that feels that way about announcers. It's amusing.Jordysghost wrote: You know, its funny, most Packers fans I know adamantly swear that Buck and especially Aikman have it out for them.

Good point. I merged the threads. Hunter, your post is now up-thread.DK Sweets wrote:Why don't you join us in the Around the League thread instead of starting three more threads?

You know what Winston and Mariota have in common? Their first TD pass in the NFL was to a Titan player.Mothman wrote:I just saw an interesting contrast between Mariota and Winston on NFL Red Zone. In that titans/Bucs game, Mariota threw a beautiful play action pass for a TD to cap his first pro drive. Winston;s first drive ended with a pick 6.
Vikings fan since Nov. 6, 1966. Annoying Packer fans since Nov. 7, 1966

The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." #SKOL2018

I liked when Everson called him "Jameson" in the preseason game against the bucs. Leber didn't even seem to notice, but it was a hilarious moment.S197 wrote:Poor Jamarcus Winston
Glad to see Mariota come out and start his career with a decisive win.

Jets/Browns?? Why?
Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.

Winston's first career pass was a TD... To the wrong team. I know everyone thinks the world of Winston, but in my limited views, the guy is Ryan Leaf.Mothman wrote:I just saw an interesting contrast between Mariota and Winston on NFL Red Zone. Ah. Someone beat me to it.

I picked him up in fantasy in one of the late rounds. But I left him on the bench today.J. Kapp 11 wrote: Mariota has four TD passes and a 157 passer rating -- in the FIRST HALF.

Then I post one about Palmer instead of one here.Mothman wrote: Good point. I merged the threads. Hunter, your post is now up-thread.
I thought this thread was going to be about players committing felonies and Patriots cheating scandals, my apologies.

Re: Around the League - Week 1
what a scintillating little field goal festival going on in Texas, huh?
Maybe ESPN won't run a package about Odell Beckham Jr. three times an hour now?

Re: Around the League - Week 1
I was thinking about Carson Palmer today, too. After he got hurt in the playoffs, he never quite seemed the same. Then he had that hold out and went to Oakland and his career seemed all but over. It looks like he's back to elite level now, and you're right, Hunter - the Cardinals could be a very scary team.
Also, this SNF game isn't terrible, but it just doesn't seem to be holding my attention.

Re: Around the League - Week 1
Also, did anybody see Tyler Eifert's stats today? That could really open things up for AJ Green and make Andy Dalton look a lot better if they make the playoffs.

Re: Around the League - Week 1
I thought the Cowboys were cream of the league and that the Giants were going to be an underachieving bum team.
I even had Dallas beating Giants as a "lock of the week" over at another board.
