Interesting...especially when you look at Minnesota in several categories ("Admit draft mistakes and move on"...page 7)

Seahawks brochure to agents of UDFA
“Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.” --- Bill Shankly
Re: Seahawks brochure to agents of UDFA
Who was the 2nd rookie UDFA that the Vikings brought onto the active roster in 2013? They brought up Rodney Smith from the practice squad during the season. Who else made it?
Edit: Looks like it was safety Brandan Bishop.
What to make of the numbers regarding draft picks released in their first year? I think the high percentages for some teams may be more indicative of having a lot of throwaway late round picks than anything else. The Vikings are one of those teams that seem to pile up these picks for some reason. A more interesting stat than percentage would be average round of those players released. It's one thing for UDFAs to be beating out 6th and 7th rounders, but I'll bet very few teams are giving them roster spots over their 4th and 5th round picks.

Hopefully they'll get more chances under Zimmer. And we'll start looking for young players who can contribute moving forward, instead of veterans who might make a few more tackles this year but have no future with the team.
