Baltimore paid the man.

Baltimore paid the man.
Baltimore paid the man. It’s now up to Joe to prove he’s capable of replicating such a feat again. If he does, the Ravens will have no qualms about his new deal. If he struggles, those dollars start to become an onerous weight both in terms of expectations on the shoulders of Flacco as well as on the Ravens salary cap going forward.

I think people look at his regular season numbers too much. He's worth it to Baltimore. He's taken them deep into the playoffs every year since his rookie year, won a freaking SB, and waited to get paid.
well done.
well done.

Agreed. It doesn't matter if he's a top QB statistically. He clearly has "the right stuff".NextQuestion wrote:I think people look at his regular season numbers too much. He's worth it to Baltimore. He'll never be the starter for my fantasy team but it doesn't matter. Eli Manning isn't a regular season king but he gets the job done in the playoffs. Alex Smith almost took his team to the SB in 2011 with modest numbers.
If you have the right cast on both sides of the ball you can go the distance. Look at Dilfer and BJ

I still think it wasn't a smart move. Baltimore really put themselves in cap hell by doing this. Flacco will need to consistently play well for the Ravens because the team is likely to go through quite a big turnover after they won the Super Bowl.

They paid him too much IMO.. it will cost the team overall in the long run..

Re: Baltimore paid the man.
I thought $1 million per quarterback, per game, was good, but this is better, post season excluded!

Time and time again he proves the doubters wrong and realistically, who would you prefer when comparing two similar skill set players? Matt Ryan, a phenomenon in the regular season only or Flacco, who always pulls through in key situations, similarly to Eli Manning of old.
The guy can make every throw, is low key and will likely be a Raven for life.
Personally, I think it's time for him to take a bow.
Re: Baltimore paid the man.
So they got Flacco
have lost Boldin ..
will probably lose Ed Reed and Kruger not to mention Ray lewis
and possible others as well
Yeah they are going no where last year but will have a well paid QB

The guy has won a superbowl.
He has it.
Worth every cent.

No player is worth losing half of the other starters on the team because they can't afford them..
In baseball you can do this in Football you have to budget your money on a team concept.
20 million is to much for a QB on Flacco calibur..
I don't Brady or Manning deserve it either with the budget restaints
