Black Monday

Post by CbusVikesFan »

Today is Black Monday. Who will go and who will stay? Reid is supposedly out. Norv Turner will probably get the axe again, along with the GM there. Crennel? Whisenhunt? Jason Garrett? Any other coaches on the hot seat?

Fired Coach list
(I'll keep this updated for clarity as we see them. Maybe the OP can copy/paste this so it's at the top?)

Gailey (Buffalo)
Reid (Philly)
Smith (Chicago)
Crennel (Kansas City)
Shurmur (Cleveland)

I'm amazed that Rex Ryan still has a job.

No kidding. But that Tebow circus may be leaving town so who knows about next year. He will still be tied to Sanchez for next year if I'm not mistaken. So how that works out will determine his fate, going status quo.

Bad decision by the Bears in my opinion. Injuries have been their main problem when they've fallen apart these last two seasons. Mike Tice have another shot at a head coaching gig there!?

At this point. I hope the Jets do keep Ryan, because they will stay the laughing stocks of the league. It's almost like Al Davis was reincarnated as an entire franchise... but without the winning.

All these firings are making me nervous for the Vikings.

Seems like every time we have a good season we lose our Defensive Coordinator :?

I wouldn't worry about that. There are a LOT of candidates out there considerably more high profile than Williams. While he has done a good job in his first year as DC, he hasn't exactly lit it up and risen to "The Next Guy" profile. I'd be absolutely SHOCKED if he was made head coach somewhere next year. I mean, he was JUST a secondary coach a year ago! This Musgrave/Shurmur business is the only thing I'd be worried about (even though I'd be very surprised if that were to happen).
