Schwartz sealed his fate on Thanksgiving

Post by soflavike »

That bonehead challenge that negated the review of the Forsett touchdown might go down as a "Career Moment"... As for the rule itself, I don't really see why the team should lose the review altogether... a 15 yd penalty should be enough... seems very harsh.

Agreed, but Schwartz should have realized that the scoring play would be reviewed automatically. It was a really dumb move to throw the red flag.

That call was gross incompetence and a disgrace to the NFL, it was shocking in being such an idiotic call in an important Thanksgiving NFL game watched nation wide. Most of the fans in the stadium and watching it on TV could tell Forsett was down.

NFL Officials need to know the basic rules of football, if touched and the ball-carrier's knee or elbow are down, the player is down and the play is over.

They should bring the Replacement Referees back if this is the quality of NFL referees.

USA has the headline right, "Lions get ripped-off by terrible call, rule flaw on TD"

Wo Wo Wo take it back a notch. Think of how fast that play happened, Not like they are staring at their knees I mean we are all but human right? Thats why there arent camera's as referees. For how bad normal refs are. Replacement refs are irrefutable.

There was an "automatic" scoring play a week or two ago that wasn't reviewed though. The booth still has to call for it.

This is a ridiculous rule.

I swear that the "regular " refs are at least as incompetent as the replacements were :steamed:
