That sucks. He did a great job for NFL Films. RIP.

seemed like a great guy overall... He changed the way the game was viewed and loved

Sabol changed the way the game is viewed on television. The NFL used to be the fourth most popular sport behind baseball, college football and boxing; NFL Films completely changed that. Didn't know he was dealing with brain cancer. May he rest in peace. The game would not be the juggernaut it is now without you and your father, Ed...

Well said. His contribution to the success of the NFL can't be overstated. NFL films was instrumental in making pro football the #1 sport in the country.

I know I could do some more research on top of my preliminary search, but I feel lazy. Was Steve Sabol the guy that did the football blooper reels/specials too? I'm almost 100% sure of it. I have fond memories watching those growing up. Anybody else remember those?
