Most Underrated Players of the last 25 years
Ok, so the reason I said 25 years is because I'm 33 and I only remember about that many years of football It's simple, just list who you think are the most underrated in the last 25 years. Mine: David Dixon- I can't believe he never went to a Pro Bowl Chris Warren- One of the best RBs int he league when healthy. Reminded me of Robert Smith. Curtis Martin- I still can't believe that at oe point he was the fourth all time leading rusher (he still may be, I'm not sure). I may think of others, but these are my main three.

Still is and with Tomlinson retiring at #5, there's nobody active that's even close. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/l ... career.htmCan I say Cris Carter since he's now been voted down by the HoF 5 #### times?

Look how long it took for them to put Art Monk and Harry Carson in?

I hardly think that he was or is underrated. He made 6 pro bowls in his nine years with the Vikes and is currently on the Hall of fame ballot.

He's not likely to be voted into the HoF. Try asking anyone who isn't a big Vikings fan if they remember or know anything about Joey Browner. Chances are slim you'll find someone who does.

I agree he is underrated. He was a very good safety, and the Vikings have not had much for Safeties since he left.

I might not be comprehending the gist of the topic and thus I am not able to understand your response. This is about the MOST underrated players of the last 25 years. To me, an underrated player is a very very good player who's skills, tallent, and achievements were greatly underrated. This is very opposite to what Browner accomplished and was rightly credited for. He madde 6 Pro Bowls, was viewed as one of the best safties in the league (hardest hitter) and as I mentioned is on the Hall of fame ballot, although he might not make it because of his interception totals. A lot of "fans" might not remember Browner mainly because of their ages but any fan that watched football during the "Joey Browner Years' remember him quite well. He was a stud and in my opinion he certainly was not underrated by any stretch of the imagination.

He was also noted (in addition to hitting hard) for having tremendous "hand strenth" because if he got a hand on you, he seldom let go. I watched him make many tackles (which resembled horse collar tackles - but then they were legal - and Browner could do that when he grabbed arms/shoulder pads) using only his hands. He was a fun safety to watch. As mentioned, his INT totals were not particularly high, but he wasn't a bad safety in coverage either. I obviously like Paul Krause (as evidenced by my avatar) but Browner ranks up there with him (for different reasons) in my book.
