Pick up Meachem?

Just dropped in my league. Limited bench space (which I maintain is stupid)

WRs: Julio Jones, Brandon Marshall
Bench: Blackmon, Hillis, Tate, RGIII

The only guys I'd drop for him would be Hillis and Blackmon. I'd drop Tate but I think I NEED him as a high-upside handcuff to Foster. Thoughts?

I dunno if I'd drop any of those guys for Meachem at this point. It's so hard to say after only one week...but he may be Rivers' third option behind Gates and Floyd.

I think the players on your bench have more potential upside than Meachem.

My case for adding him: he SHOULD theoretically be Rivers' #1 receiver, but word out of San Diego is they don't have much chemistry together. He also has a better QB than Blackmon. No way I drop RGIII (though, right now, I don't see how I play him over Ryan for the forseeable future). Tate is an essential handcuff (though I hate, hate, HATE using a bench spot for handcuffs when we only have four stupid spots), Hillis is a nice handcuff playing behind a solid offensive line but, again, he's just a handcuff. I think you're right, though. An injury to Charles or Foster and I'm sitting pretty good. So the only one I'd probably drop him for would be Blackmon. I'll keep an eye on both of their productions in the coming weeks. If Blackmon doesn't start to emerge, I can always switch.

Yeah ... I'd keep Blackmon at least until week 3. Gabbert might continue to improve.
